on the field for 3 minutes. 3 good chances. two of them spurned through the shock of being allowed to play beyond the half way line. His cameo was quite funny really but is this an indication of what Steve Bruce will want from him in the future?
I doubt he'll see him as a striker, not after yesterday anyway. When put through on goal, right in front of me,he pretended his heels had been clipped and tumbled. He thought he would fluff his lines,so just went over. The ref waved play on,which was one of the few things he got right in the game.
I thought that too and was laughing my head off when he dispossessed someone and went hurtling towards goal before falling over! Looked good, rather comical but can't see it happening again.
Maybe, but if we get Boyd in you'd expect him to be ahead of TC in the pecking order to go in that role.

It was nearly as comical as Fuller's strop. I don't see him playing as a striker though, especially if we get Boyd.
The fact he was brought on as a striker rather than Prozzy might be a message from Bruce. A message which says "I've given up on you, Jerry."
He actually stumbled, he didn't go down deliberately, it happened more or less in front of where I sit. He should be given a chance, when Barmby was here Cairney played a lot and looked like he had really improved.
I think as soon as Cairney comes on, everyone should start falling over. He's the only player we've got with a dangerous free kick.
As some may know on here, I have been a big fan of TC since his Junior days. Indeed, with the right nurturing and a more proactive brief to get forward, he could be transformed into a goalscoring midfield player. I think his all around skills could possibly make him the next George Boyd!

I'm right on the front row, middle of the west stand, and can say without doubt that TC was clipped and did well to stay upright as long as he did. We was off balance from the second he cleared the player. The lad has goals in him, that's for sure, but he needs a run and seems to be destined to warm the bench for players with more industry to play.
I have been a big fan of TC mussy but he just hasnt grasped the opportunity this season. Brucey really praised him for the way he came back from injury but he just doesnt grab a game by the scuff of the neck as i hoped he would.
Don't get me wrong,iv'e always been a Cairney fan,it's just the way it looked to me. I thought Tom could be a good replacement for Koren eventually, but signing Boyd would seem to put an end to that idea.
I like the idea of forcing him to play a bit further up because as Mussy says, that's definitely the flaw in his game. He's far more skillful than say Meyler but he doesn't get forward nearly as much. He didn't go down for a free kick he just fell over, he looked like he was doing well to keep ahead of the defenders until then because we know he isn't the quickest.
