The single most impressive performance by SAFC in modern times?

6 years ago today. V the champion away.

    If not, what beats it?

I think so. But when you look at the side that did it:
Gordon, Bardsley, Onouha, Turner, Bramble, Richardson, Cattermole, Henderson, Zenden, Welbeck, Gyan

Now the midfield and strikers are good but that centre half pairing would scare the **** out of me now!

    Another interesting stat:

More possession in their back yard - we beat the mags 3-0 at our place but had around 35% possession and were just clinical. This was an utterly dominant performance against them

Take out Turner and Bramble. Decent friggin team that.

Hats off though, they were part of that superb result.

Has to be. I knocked back a colossal amount of red wine during and after that game. Blitzed on a Sunday... them were the days

Don't want to knock our performance that day but they had just sacked Ray Wilkins that didn't go down too well with their players. Was it just a good time to play them?

Aye well I knew you were in the mood to wind us up like clockwork monkeys haha but I reckon you meant most of what you said about Quinny.

Nah, honestly I don't think the bloke is or was cut out for being a chairman, I've said that loads of times, but ask Comm, he knew what I was up to.

I can appreciate a good striker partnership mate, when I see one, regardless of his past he was a very effective player for you.

Too nice to be a chairman. He started ok but then went to ****. Think that's the reason Short decided time was up (I think it was Short's decision even though Quinn advised he was stepping down)

<laugh> I wish I could have anything other than a "number 1 all over" which doesn't make me look like someone refusing to go bald gracefully!!

The recession in the north east is nowhere near as bad as the rapid recession of my hairline!! Gutted as I used to have long wavy hair in my younger band days but I refuse to be one of those "Bald on top pony tail" types!

The best performance in my 40+ years was the 4-1 vs Chelsea, if Reid could have added a few quality players at the time we could have made the champions league. Don Hutchinson a proper midfielder, Kilbane a proper winger , super Kev brilliant, Niall great can we get them days back ?.
