to putting West Brom in my accumulator today! As usual, playing a **** team = **** performance. Only positive is that we actually scored from a corner! Can't remember the last time that happened since Gerrard has been taking our corners for god knows how long and no manager has noticed that he is absolutely brutal at taking them! I know I sound like a broken record but why can we raise our game against good teams and then when it comes to bread and butter games we just look so lazy and lethargic? Ah well, at least Roy got his revenge! And as for Carragher playing right back again, the less said the better .
it was on the cards that was going to happen,i am just peeved off that we didnt put more pressure on the two above us.
I agree. With Spurs drawing it was an opportunity to put pressure on.I'm still not convinced Kyriakgos has a long term future, yet another poor decision. We were unfortunate however to lose both Agger and Johnson to injury. PS.Crazyhorse, thanks for the friend add.Cheers.
If we'd actually put a good run together in Jan till now we'd be fighting for a CL spot, thats how much the bar has dropped this year. We've had 2 good chances to gain ground after the faltering first half of the season and flop on these games after beating Chelsea home and away and United at home. 3 wins form the top 2 teams only to perform badly, I wont say dropped points as that would be having a cheek this season, points away at any time this season is points happily gained. The forced subs and changes messed us about. The Greek and Agger should be gone in the summer, I would rather have Sami back tbh. We need to spend on CBs in the summer, it is essential especially if you play 3 5 2 sometimes. Hopefully Kelly will get fit and stay uninjured so he can work on that game, he does remind me of the type of player O'Shea was when he first appeared before he got that fear in his game. O'Shea was the only United player cheered by Real fans when they drubbed UNited at the bern. he used to make great runs and beat players and then Fergie ruined him.
BringBackfootee. Its not perfect yet by any stretch but look where we were in January.Top ten back then would have been acceptable at the end of the season due to the way Hodgson shot the players confidence.I thought even in November relegation could have been a possibility if Hodgson remained until the end of the seasom.Thank god,The owners acted fast to stop the rot. Kenny by changing very little, has changed a lot.I can't wait until he stamps himself onto the club, that will mean an overhaul of the squad. There will be departures,However unlike last summer, they will be players that the manager wants to sell,I can't foresee forced sales. I said before that I believe within 3 years Kenny will turn Liverpool into champions.I stick by that comment.
You gotta admit there was a wee bit of a honeymoon period for a few games, the fire has dimmed somewhat in th past few games. Roy had Masc leave a misfiring Torres a shakey defence an ineffective Ngog a poor Gerrard an intermittent Lucas and some bad luck. It was not all his own doing no. Like I said before if we had won a few more games in hte past 2 months never mind Jan we'd not be far off 4th, thats how bad the top 4 have been and yet again Chelsea and spurs drop points and we dont take advantage. How poor we have been being papered over a bit by the poor performances of those above us. This season is blown and I'd rather concentrate on the league next season without too much distraction of an unsuccessful EL run. The rest of the season should be about finding the best system and players and not too hung up on results as such, whats the difference between 6 and 8th, not much
Soto was shocking for me, anytime Odemweinge had the ball and started running, I just though please don't run at Soto or Carra. Same with Thomas, they were killing us. The first goal, that pk really irked me. Skrtel was there for cover, Soto had to have seen him..... why in the world would you do that????? As for Carra, the reason I sometimes get anti-target forwards, whether it be Carroll, LLorente, Gomez, etc, is because of a player like Carra (recently). Short pass is right there in front, but instead and everyone sees it coming.....HOOF. Either a long diagonal ball that never makes it or hit and hope to the top or corner. It does my head in as my philosophy on the game is so far from this method. Also you take away Carrolls other abilites. He was getting clattered left right and center yesterday in the air. Give it to him on the ground for Suarez to run off or for him to HOLD the play up.....ranting again sorry. Yesterday's game...needless to say, bugged the life out of me and still does!
