Or was he injured? Why didn't the medical flag up his knee?? Snodgrass is currently recovering from a serious knee injury sustained during his debut for Premier League side Hull City on the opening day of the season. And in an interview with the Daily Record, the Scotland international claims he was struggling during the end of his spell at Norwich. Snodgrass said: “My knee had taken an absolute beating. “People who have cartilage injuries get through them and, when you are in a relegation battle and fighting for your lives, you don’t put your hands up. The physios at Norwich helped me a lot and really got me through things.” Hull paid around £8m for Snodgrass last summer, but the dream move quickly went wrong. “When I had the summer rest before going into Hull for pre-season, I thought it had made a huge difference,” he added. “However, straight away in pre-season I felt a pain but never expected what happened next. “You just mentally programme yourself into being right, that you need to play and get out there and produce, then I made one twist and it exploded. I was going into tackles and receiving tackles which were 10 times worse, so it was hard to take. “August 16 versus Queen’s Park Rangers. First game of the season and just getting to know the boys at Hull. It was so tough to take, especially as I was just getting to know the fans and wanted to show them what I could do. It was the last thing I needed. “I had so many things in my head, putting expectations on myself for big things that were happening. The move to Hull, the Scotland games. “Some people say it is one step back to take two forward, that’s what I need to get into my head.” Snodgrass is refusing to set a timescale for his return to action. “I will work as hard as I can and listen to the professionals to get myself back as fit as possible,” he said.“To start off with, you are getting the operation to heal, then strengthening to try to get the muscle back. Now I’m at the full strengthening bit and trying to build up everything to go on to a fast walk and jogging pace. Functional movements and games will be next for me. I will have pre-season at the beginning of next term, dropping perfectly into the schedule.” Apologies if this has been covered before !!!!!
We failed to notice Snodgrass had a knee injury/problem yet we didn't sign Austin because of a knee problem, and look at him now.
hindsight is 20/20. I do think that Snodders is a great player, I just hope that he comes back as good as he was
Though he has a historic problem with his shoulder, it was a knee issue that caused us to pull out of the deal.
What a silly thread. imo. Of course he was fit. I was at QPR and saw how he got injured. As for Charlie Austin, Burnley did not argue with our findings either. Austin has a dodgy knee but QPR have taken a risk with it. So far so good for them.
Agreed. Hopefully he will come back just like Steve Austin............ better than he was before. He will be like a new signing. At least his wages should have been covered by insurance as it was a playing injury.
What a silly thread???? In the mans own words his knee Had taken an absolute beating and he maybe shouldn't Of carried on playing, he was on the pitch at QPR for All of 20 mins, not a great deal of time to asses a Players fitness, ...... Yer real silly thread ????
I dunno if i've posted this before but i was told we didnt sign "Charlie" because of... well the Charlie.
As bad as Red Top is, on this occasion he's right. Snodgers quotes here are pretty damning about his knee pre signing.
Unbelievable comments really - you can be sure someone at City will be asking him why he didn't mention it before he crocked himself (assuming he didn't mention it)
I assume he had a medical before he signed, so you have to put the blame with the doctors used. Or if we did know, quite possible, that we just decided to take a risk again.
