Has Adam Lallana attitude changed since he became an England Player?

I don't know, but for a guy who a year ago wanted to retire here, he's certainly moved through several degrees.

Does make you think why Clattenburg said it...seemed strange at the time, but not so much now.

What's more interesting, in my view, is why the club pursued the issue..

I'd imagine they were trying to defend a loyal employee.

It was Cortese in charge at the time when he was serving his notice. Not sure what point he was trying to make tho. Also, I think Adam said he didn't want it to happen and that it was the clubs choice to pursue it. Maybe he knew the ref was right!

Never understood why it was pursued myself...I do wonder who was responsible for that. Mauricio, perhaps. Adam seemed embarrassed at the time, so not sure he wanted to pursue it that far.

It was 100% Cortese. I believe EVERYONE else at the club were highly embarrassed by it, including Poch & Lallana himself.

Always thought Clattenberg was a c**t, so I hate the fact that he could have been right.

Well Adam can look on the bright side that if he does go, he won't be wasting so many penalty appeals, as they'll get given to that lot.

Getting a bit silly. Fans on here recently are reminding me of Arsenal fans after RVP left. He wanted to have some success in his career; as much as we might like to pretend otherwise, footballers will always strive for the chance to play at the top level and for the chance to win trophies over the possibility of being remembered as very loyal but completely undecorated.

I don't agree Joe (apart from anyone name calling him). This is a guy who 12 months ago signed a 4/5 year deal and said he wished he could retire here. I'm fairly realistic and understand what can happen in football, but I'm just not too pleased with how things have seemingly turned around in a short period. It was only a few weeks back he was banging his badge on his chest after the Newcastle goal. He's our Captain, our Mr Southampton.

IF he is trying to get a move, and I say IF, then why won't he hand a transfer request in? Money! So much for caring about the club and only wanting to go to improve and better himself. If this is all nonsense and media garbage then great, but I'm not seeing that.

I understand he has had a great season and now wants to step up a level, but show some balls and hand in that transfer request. If not, come out and say you are staying and you hope the board sort a few things out.

Recently, Lambert was interviewed next to Adam. Rickie referred to Adam as Mr Southampton..and I noticed that AL looked shifty. I wondered at the time why he didn't smile or look modest. I'm pretty good at reading faces and he looked strange when that expression was used....puzzled me at the time. Now I can see it made him uncomfortable. I don't think Adam suddenly doesn't love Saints, but his exposure to England has made him feel small time and he wants what some of the others have. I hope it does finish better than it looks at the moment.

There are ways of going about things. The transfer window is open for another 3 months and transfers are famously protracted processes. Acting a little like a spoilt brat and complaining to Adam Blackmore in an effort to make the club look bad was not clever no matter how true or frustrated he might be with events.
He is still a representative of the club and as team captain he should deal with those grievances in-house

Because of course we fans typically love it when we have no clue about what's going on at the club. It's not like we ever get a bunch of people moaning when no one is telling us what's going on.

You're putting a lot of faith in speculation in order to arrive at these conclusions. There's every chance he just wants to get the World Cup out of the way before he makes any conclusive decisions at Saints. There's no way he's thinking about Saints this close to the tournament.

Plus, what you're saying here is that your expectations of him were raised so high you're now disappointed in him for acting the same way a vast majority of players would. It's not really fair to castigate a guy for that. You can't expect him to be "Mr Southampton" and hate him if he fails to be, even if he previously seemed to tell us he would be. If he leaves us, I probably won't think badly or fondly of him. I will nothing him. He won't be a Saints legend, but he definitely shouldn't be a "Judas" either. He's done far too much for us to deserve that.

The Blackmore tweets the other day about phone calls being ignored and other general leaks to the media recently.
