for me other than his goals he didnt really contribute a lot. His goals obviously were important for us but feel we would have been better suited with a more complete midfielder
I think he's a decent player. He's got a great shot on him(one of the best I've seen) and makes some good runs into the box. The problem is because of these things and his decent goalscoring record he thinks his best position is as an attacking midfielder, when he seems far better in the defensive role. When he first came here I thought he was great his one touch passing was superb and he often made the difficult one touch passes look easy, he rarely lost the ball. The he kept trying all these flicks and Hollywood passes when he was further up the field and he just kept loosing the ball!! But in answer to your question, no he was not our best player last year Creswell was but he did probably save our season or more PJ's job!!
I think he's been Ireland's best player at this tournament, but best player for Town last season would have to be Cresswell. Andrews is worth having in the side for his goals so I would have him back, but you have to have Hyam in there then to protect the back four.
Not a player who is ever going to be amongst the best midfielders in this division, yes his scoring record was good for us, but his passing and positional play were sadly lacking, a good competitor, but used to go missing in games.
