... anyone else reminded of Wimbleon when we played Reading. Is Roberts the new fashanu? He is a bit of a battering ram. The ball did spend a lot of time in the air for my likeing.
Must admit i was impressed with Roberts power and strength and he is a handful at this level and he has been the catalyst in their late surge since joining them in Jan.
Haven't see any of Readings games other than Friday. I think they changed their method of play because they knew they couldn't outplay us at our game and it worked.
I thought that you could tell Roberts was a premier league standard player - pace, power and guile. I think that we have a very good side and i have really enjoyed watching them most of this season - but it is mainly a successful League 1 side who have become a pretty good team. Reading formulated a plan to combat our team and it worked wonderfully well for them, and Roberts was the spearhead of that plan. Well done to their manager and team for making it work - however on another day it may not have and they could have got well beaten if our finishing had been its usual calibre. Even allowing for our defensive slips it could have been 5 - 3 or similar.
I don't understand how Roberts is doing so well, he's always been such a terrible player and never looked nearly this dangerous in the Premier League. I think this is his level.
They were good in the air. Whether that makes them like Wimbledon is another question. That I am too young to answer.
Watching the Swansea QPR match last night I couldn't help thinking how much Reading play like Swansea and Saints like QPR - SPOOKEY!
