I was in the R block so up the other end Was it a penalty? Should he have gone? Does anyone WHO COULD SEE AND IS IMPARTIAL think the ref got it right ?
completely shocking decision from the ref, he was also the last man, you could see bright as day that he stopped the ball on purpose
I'm in SA Road block B and it was definitely a pen and a red card. The ref and lino seem to have concocted an offence 3 yards further back.
Couldn't see clearly on the stream, no replay and no commentary. Couldn't understand what was going on and what the commotion was about. Did he handle it?
As Hooped Dreams said....The most blatant penalty I have EVER seen. Their lad fell and actually grabbed at the ball, pulling it away. We sit in CL block, West Paddock so had a perfect view. Shocking decision
Definitely a pen which I saw from even though I was in block F. Referee was clueless, several incidents not dealt with, least of all off the ball incident involving Barton and their number 8 who didn't even get a yellow.
Sky Sports seem to think that the ref didn't know what player it was and so rather than send the wrong one off he opted not to send any off at all. Interestingly after he weekend Harry called for the midfielders to pitch in with more goals. Last night he changes the system and two score. A lesson there methinks.
Here's that report.............. QPR 3 Bournemouth 0: Harry's lads show their class with season's first treble and Joey on song in efficient win By IVAN SPECK PUBLISHED: 22:00, 3 December 2013 | UPDATED: 01:33, 4 December 2013 Led by the industrious quality of Joey Barton, Tuesday felt like the night QPR finally announced themselves as the classiest team in the Championship. Whether that will result in Harry Redknapp’s side regaining their Barclays Premier League status come May will depend more on their ability to avoid lapses such as Saturday’s defeat by lowly Doncaster, for there can be little doubting the quality in their squad. Barton bestrode this match with a calm assurance in possession to complement his bite in the tackle. And, yes, there was a booking but that was understandable in light of a baffling refereeing decision. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Rangers are behind leaders Leicester only on goals scored. Clinical finishes from Charlie Austin, Junior Hoilett and Matty Phillips suggest they may close that gap, too. Assistant manager Kevin Bond said: ‘We’re really happy. Until we got the first goal it was a very tight game. 'The manager was talking to the wide players to say they needed to help out with goals, so it was important Junior and Matty scored.’ Lapses in the hurly-burly of the Championship will be tolerated as long as excitement replaces efficiency at Loftus Road this season. Until Tuesday night, Rangers had not scored more than two goals in a game. Then again they have Austin, whose knack of finding space was evident with a 12th-minute header from a diagonal Danny Simpson cross which Lee Camp tipped over. After 27 minutes Austin again eased himself into position to cushion Andrew Johnson’s cross on his chest before poking a shot under the body of the onrushing Camp for his ninth league goal of the season. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Austin caused more pandemonium on the half-hour. Chasing a through ball, his pace brought him level with Tommy Elphick, who pulled Austin back then scooped the ball away with a hand. It was an obvious red card to all except for the assistant, who did everything but assist referee Andy Woolmer. The outcome was merely a free-kick which an exasperated Barton drove into the Bournemouth wall. He followed that with a frustrated hack on Simon Francis that brought a booking. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Austin’s only lapse, an air shot early in the second half, left Hoilett to squeeze a shot into the far corner and the result was assured 13 minutes from time when Phillips hammered home with his first touch. Bournemouth’s only effort of note came when Rob Green was forced to turn away a bouncing shot from Harry Arter. Whisper it to the rest of the Championship but QPR are about to get stronger. Not impartial, but taken from BBC website: QPR midfielder Joey Barton: "Good, solid home win again for us last night. Referee was lucky his major mistake didn't come back to cost us. I clearly heard lineman say, 'Austin was through on goal, their player has denied him a scoring chance.' Not even given a yellow card? He must not have seen which player it was because it took him ¾ mins to make a decision. Instead of admitting he didn't see the culprit. Got to get big decision right. I know its a difficult job. I am not blaming him for one minute because he's human and we all make errors."
It was a giant cock up I was there with a clean line of sight in Z6 ... Total Pen and a red card. The ref got that very wrong but it gave us a kick up the arse and we played with a lot more passion afterwards and Barton got a silly booking a few minutes later. We play with a bit of attitude combined with a controlled relaxed style then there is no one in this league to touch us
Looked on the edge of the box and I thought it was just outside, however def penalty, he clearly pulled the ball away ans Austin wold have had a clear shot on goal unchallenged. Enjoyed the game though nice to see Austin getting more suppport and able to get into more dangerous positions.
I haven't seen the video yet, but it was a handball - how can that start outside? I think the lino said it was penalty and red, but the ref didn't know who to send off so decided to give a free kick for some kind of foul.
