Today's rumour news, Wolves reject our offer of £10 million!!! No other concrete rumours in sight so was starting to get a bit concerned, specificaly about where our goals will come from... Then I read last nights message from Vinegar Joe and realise people, including a blo0dy fair few on here, go through some very hard times and FFS its only football. Yes, it plays a massive part in our lives and win, lose or draw gives you a bit of escapism from reality for a short while. 7 years ago today my wife died. I have been fortunate enough to have since met a lovely woman, have married again and our second child, if on time, is due within the week. Therefore I am not going to whinge about lack of signings (which is difficult for me) and just trust the club in how they wish to proceed. Best wishes to Joe and his ladies and everyone else. Jesus, I didnt realise there were so many old duffers on here!!!!! ha ha
100% correct it's only a game.... The players tend to live in a surreal world, without the worries of somethings like financial problems, but do have the harsh reality of family problems. Good to hear you got up and carried on after what must have been a devastating time for you...Best of luck with the new arrival. As for the club, we have no control over that, what happens, happens.
Good post mate & good luck with the new baby. You are right its only football but it gets under your skin & keeps you on the edge of your seat. As Sunderland fans we have had alot of ups & downs but like you said i trust the club i trust ES, MoN & Margret Byrne (Syds tart) to take the club forward & not let us end up like Leeds, Portsmouth & Rangers. As for signings the season kicks off 2 weeks on Saturday im confident we will have a few players in by then. KTF
Nowadays its more a case of financial balancing act and absolutely would rather have an average squad than be in the position of those clubs you mention. (Just 1 or 2 strikers would be lovely)
Nice to hear after tragedy that your life has taken a turn for the better. The very best of luck with the new bairn. We all get wrapped up and fairly obsessed with football - often beyond reason ! For me especially it's part and parcel of my own identity as a born and bred Mackem, living as I do away from home !
There are many wonderful people on this board. It is very sad that bad things seem to happen to good people although I always like to think there is light at the end of the tunnel. SAFCDRUM and everyone else. Remain strong and keep happy. You will get all the good things you deserve if you have not already had them.
