JUST SEEN THIS ON LOFT FOR WORDS QPR have agreed a 200-year lease with Ealing Council to develop a new training facility at Warren Farm. The intention is to deliver a new football and sports hub comprising a 1st team training centre, QPR Academy and a new Community Sports Facility. QPR have worked extensively with architects Populous, Ealing Council and local stakeholders to develop a facility that meets the needs of all users - both the Club and the local community. Warren Farm will be a fantastic new facility for local residents with particular emphasis on football and cricket, but it will also see the QPR In the Community Trust delivering a wide range of multi-sport programmes as well as extending its very successful health, education and social inclusion programmes across Ealing. The scheme develops the proposals that were approved by Ealing Council in 2013 and again have wide-spread support across Ealing Council, QPR fans, Sport England, the FA & Premier League as well as local clubs and leagues. It also has widespread support from local residents. However, as with all these schemes there are some local residents who are opposed to the proposals and who are seeking to prevent it from going ahead. Therefore, it is important that supporters of the scheme also come forward to voice their opinions to Ealing Council. This should help QPR to secure the planning permission needed to enable the scheme to progress. In summary, the key reasons to support the proposals are that they will: · deliver positive benefits to the local community; · provide new facilities and opportunities for community sport for all ages; · provide new training opportunities particularly for young people; · bring an important community club into this area; and · bring QPR’s facilities into the heart of its community with the long term benefits for local people and the club alike. If you support the scheme, please contact the Planning Officers at Ealing Council, Ian Weake and Katrine Dean, to let them know. They can be contacted by email at: [email protected], or [email protected] Or alternatively, you can write to them at: London Borough of Ealing, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, Ealing, W5 2HL Please refer to Planning Application Reference P/2015/2387 in any email or letter. HERE IS THE LINK TO THE DOCUMENT http://gis.ealing.gov.uk/webreports/planning/planning_weekly_Detail_results.asp? Loft for Words have been sending support emails to the above address and the expiry date is 11/08/15. Not sure what that means but maybe that is when the emails have to be in Anyone have further info on this.....and should be be joining in on this exercise too..to voice our support? Anyone have info???
Confusing. Have we got a 200 year lease or not? Why should Ealing Council Planning officials take the views of non-Ealing residents into account? I thought the anti faction had already been denied the option of judicial review? Is this because we have revised (i.e scaled down) the plans we originally submitted? What the **** is going on?
I'm the same as you Stan.. I am also confused why the club has not tried to get local residents, at least involved. It is confusing...but loft for words are going for it...not sure how to find out what it is about. Not sure if an email in support from some one (me) who lives 50 miles away would help or hinder the cause. Odd
Good points well made. ''Why should Ealing Council Planning officials take the views of non-Ealing residents into account?'' It's probably because ECP Planning officials just see it as a bit of brown paper handbags. Allegedly.
I emailed them this morning, as i only live a couple of miles from Warren Farm i suppose i count as a local
I wouldn't get involved with this unless I lived very close to Warren Farm. If too many people from outside the area chip in their two penny worth it would not look good and the local opposition would have a field day. (No pun intended)
I think that is good advice Eamon...but if any of you do live near Warren Farm, in the borough of Ealing...I think your input would be helpful
I'm an Ealing resident and I emailed them to support. I posted about this a while back and stated as fact that Ealing Council would save money by doing this deal. I was challenged by a poster from elsewhere or WUM. However, if Ealing Council are no longer responsible for the land there surely must be funds released because of that even if its only mowing the grass! I took that line with them in my email ie money saved better spent on care of the elderly etc.
Crazy release by the club It must be chaos there This after the idiot announced it was a done deal ... No he has simply walked away The plan could easily be scrapped IMO and this may just be a PR exercise Well our fans were no longer interested We are rebuilding the team and dont expect too much as we are broke and can't get back into the top tier so why do we need a training ground? We can't even organise a pre season CR's hungry young team don't need a super academy do we? I would shelve all plans that left Tony's pie hole
