Warnock wants Bertrand QPR boss looking to take Blues defender on loan Last Updated: August 5, 2011 4:14pm 0 0 Bertrand: Remains behind Ashley Cole in the Chelsea pecking order Sky Bet Chelsea's Next Match Stoke9/2 Draw12/5 Chelsea4/6 Barclays Premier League Winner 11/12 £5 Free Bet Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are looking to take Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand on a season-long loan. As they prepare for their return to the Premier League, manager Neil Warnock has been busy scouring the market for potential new recruits. Money has been in short supply so he has been forced to explore all avenues, including the loan market. Left-back has been identified as one area which needs addressing as a matter of urgency, so candidates for that role have been assessed. Bertrand would fit the bill, as he is still considered to be a squad player at Chelsea. Regular football It is unlikely that he will be able to oust Ashley Cole from the Blues' starting XI any time soon, so he may be open to another loan move. He spent the first half of last season with Nottingham Forest, allowing him to see regular first-team football. Prior to that, the 22-year-old has taken in spells with Bournemouth, Oldham, Norwich and Reading. Bertrand penned a new five-year contract with Chelsea in July, proving that he is held in high regard around Stamford Bridge, but QPR are hoping that their capital rivals will be willing to let the youngster leave on another short-term deal. Andre Villas-Boas may be willing to consider an agreement with Rangers as they could offer his promising defender a full season of top flight football, something he is yet to experience. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11668_7083112,00.html
I can already hear choruses of "Ca Plane Pour Moi" echoing around Loftus Road coupled with plenty of pogoing.* *(For those of you who haven't a clue what I'm talking about ... ask your Dad.)
Indeed Eamon, wasn't that Plastic Bertrand? Ah alternative music of the late 70's / early 80's.....I once had hair like that bloke from The Mighty Wah! Happy days

This would be a great signing all the of our signings have been mentioned at some point over the past couple of months, some great guess work going on.
Not wishing to blow my own trumpet, if you check yesterday's full back thread ...... CB, if you want any tips.......
Bertrand is a good player and would be a good signing if it comes off. For selfish reasons I hope it doesn't as I think it would leave us short in that position. Bertrand is the best back up LB we have but i understand he needs first team football and there is no guarantee he will get that with us this year. Now that QPR are up I would much rather see him go to you guys as opposed to Reading or Forest as he needs to be playing at the top level best of luck to him whatever decision by the club is made
We do and both are signed up to long deals but I think most of us prefer Bertrand. PVA is great going forwards but not so great defensively. Leicester fans concur with that as well.
