interested in qpr's supporters honest opinions of what they had thought about warnocks sacking when it happened. had he lost the players, club and supporters? was he taking you no where but back to the championship? was warnock sacked as hughes was lined up? if hughes had worked out would it have been a bit like hughton and newcastle where to outsiders it seemed a bit harsh, or, was it the right thing to do if hughes had worked out up to now? am i right in remembering there was lots of rumours that warnock was going to get sacked anyway in the summer he got your promoted? not wuming it as at the time as i didnt know the full facts, so i couldnt make a judgement. also help us non qpr people with the hughes situation at the moment and if he helped kill the king or it was just normal football business?
Right thing, we were in free fall and he had completely lost the dressing room. Easy decision and said having spoken to then current first teamers.
I think Warnock was given a fair crack of the whip, and his relationship with Mr Fernandes seems genuinely good. I think the latter feared that the club was in danger of losing its PL status so soon after his investment that felt he had no option but to act. I doubt Hughes was 'inside' at the time. Was it the right thing to do? I suppose the fact the club survived by the skin of its teeth under Hughes suggests so. But, of course, we'll never know. I remain a little sympathetic about Warnock, though. Bluebottle and Eccles took so long to sell the club (or it took Mr Fernandes longer to complete the deal) that Warnock couldn't do much in the transfer market until late-August. This heralded at week's worth of frenetic transfer activity during which the likes of SWP, Anton Ferdinand and, of course, Barton came in. Whether they were Warnock's primary targets all along, or just what was available or would come at all, we'll never know.
It was clearly the right thing to do, the mistake was replacing him with a prize bell end like Hughes. Id begun to hate Warnock who just seemed to be happy to be here rather than get any sort of result and him always saying we were fantastic when we were dire. A bit like how Hughes has only just admitted that we are in a relegation scrap.
thanks for replies. was hughes already signed up for the job or did he get it after warnocks sacking and interviews?
Flyer didn't want Warnock or Hughes. He was holding out for Pep Guardiola. This time round he doesn't think Redknapp or Benitez would be up to the job He's waiting for Sir Alex Ferguson to announce his interest in the job.
No one will ever know if Warnock would have kept us up. It's quite possible that he would have done. But Warnock had a lot to learn about premiership management and I don't know whether or not he would ever have adjusted fully. I somehow feel we'd have had a better season so far this season if Warnock was here but Warnock needed to learn coping with a premier league team and players who have premier league expectations. He made us into a formidable team for our promotion season. That was the best season of my short life. I was so proud to be a QPR fan. Of course I still am proud but that was just wonderful. We all knew Warnock was an odd fellow who many would hate but I still kind of like him. He's very old fashioned, which is why he needs to adjust so much to premier league life.
Right decision, wrong replacement. Many QPR fans felt early on that Hughes would be no worse than Warnock, just none of us imagined he would actually be worse, interesting timing of Warnock's departure suggests that Hughes was already lined up before Christmas.
Wrong decision, wrong replacement. We weren't in the relegation zone and had the January window ahead. Warnock had said from the beginning that it was going to be a struggle getting through to January but we had done it relatively unscathed. We needed to bolster the squad. Not sign a whole new first team as Hughes has tried and failed to do. Warnock had brought us from the brink of League 1 to the Premiership and deserved a proper crack of the whip.
On the nail Scotland. And if he isn't going to sack Hughes now, TF will be making yet another huge and wrong decision.
Must admit after what's happened this season it does make me appreciate warnock a little more. I put our struggles last year down to him but its clear MH is no better. With the jan window he probably would've brought in players with lesser ability but more fight. Now I wonder whether we would've survived under warnock and even kicked on this season?
I don't think TF knows what normal football business is - I think he only knows how to sell seats on a plane. And I don't think MH knows how to coach a football team. Sacking NW was the worst thing we could've done, but TF didn't LIKE the man, so what could we do? He LIKES FRIENDS to be in charge of things below him in his companies
