I have absolute respect for the man.
His record speaks for itself - whether it's getting 'average' teams into the Premiership, or saving 'poor' teams from the drop.
His footballing style is not pretty, but when you manage a team of cloggers you are not going to get them playing Brazilian style flowing football. You get the best out of your players by not trying to get them to try tricks that they simply don't have the skill to do. Most people who have played the game to any level are capable of hoofing the ball long, or pouncing onto a long stray ball. It's a simple, unattractive but effective tactic at this level. Of course it doesn't work in the Premiership, which is why NW has not had much success there, but at this level it (unfortunately for the football 'puritans') does work.
I'd love to meet the man and chat football over a pint.

Look at the clubs finances after he leaves. He would had a field day with Ashton here. We would of been worse than the blue fews finances

I quite like him, he plays the pantomime dame well. You can’t argue with his record, love him or hate him.
