That was you Flyer, you did that single-handedly, and then you caused all those floods all by yourself. To be fair to you, you have a particular view of what is wrong with the club and you state your case and take on all comers, getting a fair bit of flak into the bargain.
Only in the last 3 years when we've had the worst value for money team ever, funnily enough I was delighted the season before and thouroghly enjoyed it and guess what, we were successful. I will be happy if we have a good manager and play good football, to me its idiotic to be happy with the current situation.
And there we part company. He had one season in the Prem with United and got relegated on the last day when Wigan somehow mugged them having been in free fall for about 12 games before then. When he left, we were still safe. Hughes conned his way in as the man with ambition to match Tony Fernandes and apparently the nous to get us out and the scouting network to unearth some real talent. And how we all fell for that as every chancer managed somehow to be unearthed by Hughes' scouting net work aka Kia Joorabchian. We finally won at home and our spirit at Loftus Road got us out of gaol that season. Looking back that was more to do with us and momentum at home because away we were frankly ****e. Whereas we had often competed away from home we meekly surrendered under Hughes every time we left Loftus Road -apart from the first game at Villa when what was largely Warnock's team went for the jugular and scored 2 in 2 minutes. The disaster of that first transfer window is well documented but he had his hands tied from the day we were promoted until the last week of the window. He has admitted he made some howlers then - not sure I've ever heard Redknapp or Hughes own up to anything. And yes. He muzzled his own ego to get the best out of Taarabt. Redknapp hadn't been able to get him playing then and he froze him out second time around as well.
Without gettting too deep into it... Warnock was the right man for that time. He was exactly what we needed...then We've moved on and i dont think he could repeat it, dont want him back & he probably doesnt want to come back. Thanks but No thanks from me
Fair comment there, 'awjm'. I see life as a big wheel .................. it goes round, sometimes at a very slow pace but it does eventually go full circle. Hopefully, we'll come round again .................. soon.
I agree 100% with Yorkshire's post, and I must have said the same on a 100 other threads or there abouts before. I think Colin and we have moved on and coming back don't normally work, but if we were to lose a few more on the spin and the Board decide they got make a change, I can't think of a better candidate to pull us up with around 10 games or so, plus play-offs left to do it with.
We haven't moved that much ... looking at the big picture... apart what our debt is today and better still what is will be in 5 years... oh an our player from recent years is on loan to Milan
Colin was good but never at the top table ... then money talked and we were going to do well in the prem Stick with Harold ... in fact i would love to see a new rule ... you can only depart with your manager in between the seasons ... would cut out a load of bollocks IMO. While you are at it trash the transfers windows again only allowing players to be swapped or brought between May and July. 3 emergency purchases for each club No loan players at all Salary caps I must stop I have filled my pants
