I don't care what anyone says, he got a job done with us. He worked with what he had and got them playing. That is totally unlike anyone since. He had a small budget and got the team flying. In the premier league it was tough but it still felt like we had players who were fighting for the cause. As soon as Warnock left, that was the end of a fighting QPR team. Goodbye team to be proud of.
Would still have him back. He was one of the few manager in 30 something years of watching QPR who seemed to see the same game and switch tactics at half time. Got the best from Adel - put his own ego 2nd - had us playing as team with spirit - and yes I'd take him back and give him a budget this time.
Agree ink, if he was given the budget with what he wanted at beginning of season of prem we would have been ok & still might be.
Could never understand the flack he got we played good football and had some of our most memorable moments in the last 20 years under Warnock he should never have been sacked and as awjm says it was a team to be proud of.
The promotion season was the last season I enjoyed but he started our downfall and split in the dressing room with the panic signings of SWP and Barton. He's relegated every PL team he managed so wed have to replace him even if we went up, even before the season started which is what we should have done last time. So a massive no from me.
He set us on the path, then there's the pay to play thing, he should be nowhere near the club if that was true. Its also gone very quiet on that front, no legal action and no apology.

Talk about revisionist - let's not forget that Warnock had no idea what funds were available, and didn't even know if he was going to be in a job until the club ownership situation was finalised so it's utterly unfair to lay the blame for the signings entirely at his door. Time was short and options were limited and he was forced to move for players at a premium because (a) everyone know we were desperate and (b) most of the available players had already been signed to other clubs. Compare that to Swans & Norwich who had very much settled their squads well before the start of the season. Fair enough to not rate the bloke, but let's not let our personal opinions rewrite history.
I rate him in this league but not the PL. I know his hands were tied by the late takeover but wed have been better off going into the season with our champ team than signing one average and one awful player on several times the wages the others were on. That started the split and Hughes finished it.
Your spouting negative rubbish again on what basis can you say he can not manage a PL team because ALL the teams he managed were relegated or do you mean the ONE team that he managed the whole season was relegated i.e. Sheff Utd was relegated and he was unlucky in my eyes with the Tevez affair plus had to play a CL team as his budget was non-existent, add Seagull's reply regarding QPR and any fool can see he has never been given a fair crack at it.
Plus the others where he was sacked before heading ontoor just avoiding relegation. The fact is he hasn't managed one season in the PL keeping a team up in what, 3 tries?
