Warnock - No Danny Webber deal By Jacob Murtagh Jul 15 2011 Share Add a comment Recommend QPR boss Neil Warnock has denied reports that he has offered a deal to triallist Danny Webber. The former Portsmouth frontman has been training with Rangers this week after leaving Fratton Park at the end of the season. Webber, who played under Warnock at Sheffield United, got his first outing in a hooped shirt in tonight's friendly win against Harrow Borough. However, Warnock has rubbished earlier reports that he has already agreed a one-year contract with the 29-year-old, with the Loftus Road chief giving him another chance to shine in next week's tour of Cornwall. He said: "I thought he did all right but it's still early days. He hasn't been offered a deal as far as I'm aware of." Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest QPR news. Warned by a Pompey friend the other evening that Webber was a liability. Great speed but hopeless with the ball. His parting line was... don't touch him with a barge pole!!!
too be honest, IF he is given a year's contract; and as he isn't going to cost a fee then this could be a good purchase. Whilst we were are expecting the board to stump a decent transfer fund, if they ain't then we have to make do with what's around. Boothroyd on a freebie was a good bit if business, Dyer ..hum, I wil have to be convinced due to his injury record. NW always said that he would need to construct two teams, one to get us out of the chmapionship, the other to keep us in premiership. NW made a few signings last year THAT surprised an awful lot of us, Derry and Hill easily come to mind, and if you look at the buys as a whole: Kenny, Mackie cost a fee which I reckon we got back, Derry and Hill major major bonuses, Hulse (sit on the fence), Clarke - didn't work NW does have a good record of getting something from the majority of players he has brought in. Not included Taarabt as he was massive last year. I do get fed up with some critising players that we bring in, surely we should all be supporting the new players and encouraging them rather than knocking them. And at least give the players a chance to perform and possibly prove people wrong. Also in the DM North was an amusing comment from Des Kelly calling Flav Bernie's his tubby tanned poddle and suggesting that the lack of investment could be due to the club being sold.
Warnock : "He hasn't been offered a deal as far as I am aware of." Shows the amount of trust and teamwork between NW and Briatore. None.
