Warnock and Bates together at Leeds. That's a lively partnership. <doh>

So much for QPR being his last club. Can he turn around Leeds fortunes and make a push for an auto spot (11 pts behind)? Agree with Hilts, he's a fantastic manager at this level.

He will probably take them to the play offs but even he can't take them to autos. That is assuming he doesn't have a major bust up with master bates in the meantime.

    It's certainly a volatile combination.

Surprised he's gone there. Wouldn't have thought Bates would want to pay the wages he'd want and didn't think Warnock would go there knowing there's no money and the transfer window has closed.

He may pick up a few decent loans. QPR have a few spare players. :emoticon-0105-wink:

there was a conspiracy theory circulating around the leeds board that bates doesnt want promotion this year as its the final year of a 10 year agreement that if leeds are promoted then they have to make payments to the creditors they screwed over.... <ok>

yea but that was a load of crap. Every single year I hear rumours that if we get promoted then we have to pay an untold amount to creditors when the fact is its around 5m but certainly not more than 10m. The money from promotion far outways that

agreed, no 2 ways about it, its a coup for leeds to sign such an accomplished championship manager, you do ask why he's going to a club with a barmy chairman, unrealistic expectations in terms of the budget available etc, but maybe he's desperate to get back into the game to prove a point <ok>

Well swamp, Im actually not ecstatic to see him appointed. I have issues with it to be honest and I think there are better managers available but the budget constraints are caused by having dead wood. We dont have a massive budget admittedly but when you don't have a big budget you can't waste away wages on.... well... ****

Surely Bates would not want to catch creditors. A deal is a deal, my word is my bond etc. Why would he want to renege on his word.....surely not?

Im not talking big money here but **** signings do catch up with you. We have around 8 or 9 players in the squad who are just not good enough for championship level and will probably never play for leeds again yet we are wasting wages on them. That catches up with you and they are some of the higher earners as well

Have to agree with Swamp, Warnock, love or hate him, is a top manager in this league. Who would you have liked brought in Josh?

McCarthy was my pick. Think his record in this league is very good as well
