    Doesn't seem any worse than a similar Saints thread might read. A temporary rivalry started last year with both sets of fans wanting to prove a point this season. They've started better than us, whereas we've had a tough start. I reckon we will win, but a close run thing.

    They seem to have a lot, a lot, a lot of stupid fans though. We haven't improved at all?

    Kumb is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I might avoid it until after the game.

    Same here, I'm yet to see a fan board so dominated by neanderthals.

    Why do we get the negative ones though!? They all seem to be drinking the same happy juice over there.

    Definitely seems like a classic case of sour grapes. They thought that they should walk the Championship last season to comfortable automatic promotion, and they hate the fact that us and Reading deservedly got it ahead of them. Seems like they cling to the fact that they deserved a win against us at their place, and ignore the fact that we were better than them for the duration of the season.

    Regardless, there are a very large cross-section of idiot supporters for every club. Just like there is a very large cross-section of idiots people on earth. I'm sure fans of other teams come on here every now and then and look at some of us and chuckle. That said, there is a nice collection of ignorant twats over there!

    Two things made me curious though;

    What did we do at the Boleyn last season that offended them so much to give them this little vendetta?

    And the fact that a few of them called Adkins smug. A few of my non-Saints supporting mates have said things like this from time to time too, which I find interesting. Do you think Adkins' general perceived persona outside of Southampton isn't one of a happy-chappy optimist and rather that of a smug ****er? To be fair I could see that mis-understanding being made.

    One thing for sure is that they have the bragging rights for the moment, I only hope we can turn the tables as the Season move on.

    KUMB is like their version of SaintsWeb, I hope we win not because of these comments but because my gf supports them. If we get tonked I will hear no end of it.

    We need to take something from the game or it will be a massive disappointment for me. We are the better side head to head.

    I wouldn't be at all surprised if we beat them, but I'm expecting a West Ham win. Couple of goals for Carroll.

    I think it will be a very tough game. Think they could rough us up if they get enough of the ball. We'll need to be tough to keep them out, and I don't see Hooiveld getting into the team after Sunday, when I think he is much better equipped to deal with West Ham than Maya. Without Gaston I think we will struggle to have the guile to break down West Ham unless there are a few special moments from our lads. If we keep the ball for huge majorities of the game and get our passing going which hasn't really so far this season, we should be able to take the sting out of the game and maybe get a result, but that will be very tough away from home. If we don't do that I struggle to see us being able to stay in the game without someone like Lallana or Lambert really putting in a hell of a game, might even be time for JRod to get going!

    Agreed, West Ham have far to much strength and tall guys in their team for my liking.
