The bloke on the shop floor said we were dead and buried by xmas, but then we went on a decent run and gave ourselves a chance, beating some decent teams apparently, then to be relegated like that? He wasnt happy!

Aaaahhhh!!! But is it better to be in the Turd Division with a 45% win percentage, or a turd in the Premier League with a 0% win percentage?

You can’t be expecting sympathy from us? Take the KK years and Bobby years out and we are ****, and **** on by owners for decades. Thankfully you have decided to make us feel better by being worse

Thing is, this is the most interested I've been for years. It's a little more enjoyable and satisfying having players pulling their weight for once. Knowing we have a good chance of winning a game. 'Competing' in the premier league was just mind numbing drudgery.

Well, we're both sh!te. But one club is a dense turd that has sunk like a stone, and the other is a persistent floater, that keeps bobbing back up and won't go away despite Mike Ashley repeatedly pressing the flush handle. We're just hoping he gets bored and walks away, leaving the mess for some other poor sod to clean up.

Can't disagree with this at all.

I do sometimes wonder what PL survival is all about really..................... especially when it is purely survival, no progression, not really competing ................. just clinging on by our fingertips so that our billionaire owner gets a bit more money in his pocket ................. it's not what football should be about for me.

I agree and have said as much for years. When we mentioned this to some of your lot when we went down, naturally (rivalry) we were told nah its bollocks, PL is everything and we were only saying it because we couldn't accept you were in a higher league. I think those who said it though will be feeling somewhat different now (Bri and the like). The PL is **** for all but the newly promoted with low expectations (novelty soon dies off) and the top 6. The league is a lopsided international league and a pile of crap, I don't watch football much now as it is a pile of **** compared to days gone by. They're all a bunch of pussies and its just one big marketing exercise for global brands.

While I wouldn't actively seek it because I want my team to win, I wouldn't be devastated if we get relegated this season. I know some of ours struggle to comprehend the loss of Rafa but he doesn't make that much difference with they way we're run. He isn't really doing any better than Pardew or Hughton working under the same constraints. Maybe if you handed them all money Rafa would easily come out on top, but that isn't going to happen under this owner so having Rafa is a waste of time. The championship wasn't much fun last time mind, we were pretty boring to watch. The time before under Hughton was great. We were full throttle. All in all I don't get the same pleasure out of watching my team now. Its been that way for 10 years bar the odd highlight.
