Looks like Ward will join Palace either today or Monday. Also, it appears Leeds made contact with Ian Harte about coming back to Leeds, just a few weeks ago, prior to him signing on for another year at Reading.
Can help but feel, as a football club we are very slowly going nowhere....

Well let's hope Colin walks and Pearce chucks in a transfer request for been sold a lemon. That would make the old $$%%* squirm!!

Where has all the transfer money gone from the Gradel and Howson sale?
What about the savings on wages of players like Kasper and the rest?

    It's a bloody disgrace.

    Palace adv attendance 15,219

Season ticket £440 Under 10s get a Free season ticket with an adult purchase

And they can afford to pip us for a defender who is a huge bargain. Bates is a tight git all right but I thought he may make this happen as he would be getting a steal.

And dont forget Warnock wanted him!

Why is it that when Grayson was in charge, he had a playing budget for wages and bringing players in, but now there seems to be no budget for either? Surely as a chairman, the first thing you would do at this time of the season, is set a budget for transfers/wages.

He seemed to find the fee for Pearce alright, surely any other money should have been freed up before it was needed, not after. Is that not how other clubs work? Make a bid AFTER they know how much they can afford to pay for them? We're already a laughing stock to supporters of other clubs, but this will now make us a laughing stock to chairmen of other clubs too, who don't really want to deal with Bates as it is.

Ward to Palace would show a massive lack of ambition from the player to move his career forward, and therefore a factor could be that staying in the South/London appeals more to him/family.

Well at the moment mate, clubs like Palace have a hell of a lot more ambition than we do: he's far more likely to achieve something there than he is here.

Seems like a lack of ambition here. I'm now worried.

Amazing that we had Harte training with us pre-season two season ago and we chose not to offer him a contract. Great club we follow. Anyone tells me I have to trust in the manager / chairman / owner/ chief exec / scouts / tealady because they know what they are doing is likely to get a cucumber up their jacksy

None of the people at Leeds know what they are doing. And they have all made long and lucrative careers in football without knowing bugger all about it
