The window for loan signings opens this week, but Ward said: "Essentially, we can't do anything because my budget is taken up with the players we already have got. I have always been fully aware with that and I am fine with it. We are gradually getting our injured players back and that is good for us. We go with what we have and we'll just keep working at it." The manager has three strikers, in the shape of Ryan Brunt, Matt Harrold and David Clarkson, at his disposal, and will also be able to call on Eliot Richards when he returns from a hamstring injury. When asked if he was confident that the strikers at his disposal have enough goals in them, Ward replied: "Yes. Looking at all their previous records, you would definitely say that. I expect goals from them, why wouldn't I? I think we all should. I want to stress that I'm not making any excuses, but (David) Clarkson and (Matt) Harrold are finding their way back in after long lay-offs and (Ryan) Brunt has been up and down with his fitness. I have to manage them all very carefully at the moment because they are a little bit behind, but I'm still expecting more from the team in the top-half of the pitch." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-Rovers-boss-John-Ward-won-t-dip-loan/story-19770320-detail/story.html What do you think about then gasheads?? Over to you
This is a bad move IMO Brunt and Harrold still not 100% and Richards still out injured we lack a striker with pace and I think we're still in the need of a winger the defence seems to be solid which is good to see but going forward we are bloody awful maybe ward needs to think about changing his formations and tactics around something needs to be done.
Exactly what I said on my contridictory Higgs and Ward post...........Ward I have no Money Higgs you have some but dont use it It appears that we are speaking in tongues we either have money to spend Higgs or we dont due to Wage cap one of them is wrong? If we continue to lack goals and lose a few more will money be feed up or is Ward right we are up to the limit unless we ship people out on loan Who knows you decide?
If we do have a little cash - perhaps it's being kept in reserve to sign someone in January. I still think we should bide our time and wait a little longer - Ward reckons the strikers will come good and I have faith in him. We're still unbeaten at home!
Sorry It has nothing to do with biding time strikers will come good etc. its whether we are being fed incorrect info and by whom our Main man or the manager. As for hoping our strike force or lack of will improve (can they get much worse 5 goals vs 6 in six matches) especially away from home.Consider if he moves Harrison in the middle of the park what does that say about our current crop of strikers not much in a way of a confidence boost say one thing do another?. COR
So how Andy bond has signed on loan from Colchester ???, Ward knows him well, should be a good loan for you.
