An interesting read from the post......... Ward said: "There is a bit of uncertainty at the moment, and I fully understand that. People expected more of us at the beginning of the season, and I'm not saying I didn't. I didn't expect us to be running away at the top of the league, which people threw at me, but I did expect us to be better than we are at the moment. The club and team will improve; it will get better, but it is going to take a little time. We had to hit the ground (running) big-time last year to get out of the trouble we were in, and now it is a steadying process. There is a high expectancy level here, both from inside the club and from outside, after what we achieved over the second part of last season. This is a similar situation to the one I went into at Cheltenham a few years ago. The first season I went in there and we got out of the bottom two and finished 14th. The following season we stabilised and finished 14th again before kicking on and getting promotion the season after that. I'm not saying that is the case here, because people will then say that I am not aiming for anything at all. I'm aiming for us to be the best we can, but I still think we are in a period of stabilisation. We are still working at building a team that befits this football club, and that is a work in progress for me. I think we are on the right lines and we are all trying exceptionally hard to improve for everybody. I'm not a fool. I know people get disappointed with me from time to time and I understand that, but we are trying to look after this football club now so that when we move in to the new ground we really have a super place and a good team full of confidence to go into it." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/ll-imp...manager-Ward/story-19831840-detail/story.html What do you think guys?
I think he makes an honest assessment but what's frustrating is when he took over last season we hit play off form. So far this season we look more like heading for a relegation dog fight.
