    Taken from the Post........

John Ward looks set to enter the loan market this week after Lee Brown suffered a hamstring strain in the 1-1 draw at Mansfield Town on Saturday.

Brown left the field of play soon after Mansfield midfielder Lee Stevenson had scored the opening goal and was replaced by debutant Pat Keary, who produced a competent display alongside Tom Parkes on his senior debut.

Ward, however, already has one 18-year-old in Tom Lockyer playing in his back four, and the absence of Mark McChrystal and now Brown will persuade him to send loan midfielder Andy Bond back to Colchester United in an attempt to free up some money to bolster his defence with an experienced campaigner.

Ward said: "We'll be looking to get a bit of support in to help us out if we can do it this week. We are hindered by the wage-cap business, but we will try to address the issue if we can. I can probably do one by sending Andy Bond back to Colchester to free up a wage to use elsewhere in the team. Mark McChrystal is struggling and now my left-back (Lee Brown) is as well and we don't have any natural cover for those guys. Andy has worked hard for the team, but I can't keep him if I want to bring someone else in. That is where we are at the moment and I have to go with that."

"JW confirms that Andy Bond has returned to Colchester & the manager is looking to bring in cover for the centre back & left back positions."
