There have been a few posts on here in the last few hours with people getting upset about the way some of us have been going at each other and people mentioned that it may scare new people off. That was definitely not my intention, I would like to see this site do well and have as many people using it as 606. However one of the main things that attracted me to this site and made me drop 606 altogether was the fact that we can dsay whatever we want. If we couldn't I don't think I'd be here. Call me childish if you want but I'm just having a laugh. With that in mind, does anyone else think it would be a good idea to have a "war-zone" Sub-forum where fans of any team could just wum and give it out to each other all day long with no holds barred. Anything that is deemed wumming on the normal boards can be moved straight to the sub forum. Then it keeps it off the sub forums and they can just be there for sensible conversations and anyone new going to their teams board will see a sensible forum but also means freedom of speech is maintained on here and those of us who want to give it out have somewhere to go.

A 'War Zone' or however you want to put it would probably be a good idea, as there is always going be split between those who are just in the mood to have a go at other fans, and those who just want to have reasonable debate with their own fans. I am one who enjoys a bit of wummery on the side
Being on this forum for a wee while, the wum's do wear thin, but you'll probably find your fellow posters get fed up and ignore it. If people are going to be put off by banter and wind ups, then this isn't the site for them. Best thing about here is it's lack of moderation, although, some football boards have asked to have moderators appointed, and I think Mick's doing/done that. Pretty much anything goes, bar racism. That's frowned upon.
Tina, totally understand. Any form of discrimination or abuse toward those who cannot defend for themselves e.g handicapped, the dead, etc. But some of the people that have moved over are complaining that it will prevent others from joining The bit that's got my goat the most is some are complaining of the lack of sensible threads.... Yet no one is starting any.
In fairness too, it's usually pretty obvious by the title of a thread or who it's posted by as to what way the thread will head. There have been a fair few sensible articles, so they're available if people want that.
It's still very early days. Some people will rip the piss with the freedom they have over here, compared to 606, but you do get bored with the constant swearing and slagging, trust me. The forum seems to be growing every day, if anything, the lack of rules is the main attraction. Oh and the fact that I'm here too If problems come up, Maltese Mick's the man to speak to. Some of the footballing boards are appointing moderators, with Mick's agreement. It's an option for all boards.
You're spot on. If people are keeping the same username from 606, I'm sure you all know who to steer clear from anyway, if you don't like the wum stuff. My guess is they'll get bored doing it too, as there's so much else going on over here, you can pick and choose which articles you post on. Ignoring an attention seeker is the best possible thing to do. I know, coz it irks me when I'm ignored.
Yeah for me the lack of rules is definitely an attraction ha ha. But you are right we will probably cam down eventually I just don't want us going nuts to scare anyone off initially as you need to be attracting people here . There's also a bit of a Mary Whitehouse brigade knocking about telling everyone else how to act and stop swearing etc so I was thinking it would them happy. Obviously if you don't mind us tearing strips off each other then there's not issue, I just thought if it is a problem, this might be a way to solve it. i did PM Maltese Mick but I presume he's busy enough
Aye, he's a busy busy man lol Like I said, it's very early days, some people are trying to 'mark their territory', but as far as Mick's rules go, pretty much the only thing he'll go apeshit about is racism. I don't agree with moderators on the boards, I think it'll cause friction, but I'm not the boss lol If people can't handle the banter on here, it's really their problem. They don't have to read/react to articles they don't like. Usually the article heading gives away the jist of it. Tearing strips off eachother is funny, done the right way. I think you'll notice, as you seem a bit of a card (in a good way!!), most can handle it and retaliate perfectly.
You can set up a 'war room', a wind up section. Just promote an article to a sticky, and I'm pretty sure it'd sit at the top of your chosen forum for everyone to see.
I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure if you do an article, just in the ordinary way, there's an option to 'promote to sticky'. Make sure it's on your own board though. Don't want to start WW3
