I do. And a manager and board who'll SPEND IT. I don't give a **** about where the cash comes from. The glazers, the sheiks, abramovich, liverpool owners have all done bad **** in their lives. If Usmanov's money is what it takes to save this disaster of a season, I'm taking it.
The only thing we don't know of course is whether they intend to spend big in January. I gather from the football correspondent with the Standard that Arsenal did make two club record bids over the summer. Where it went wrong was probably in the discussion of wages. As you may know, Arsenal has a policy that tends to reward potential young players and thus places a ceiling on the upper end. It's silly and should be revised since it hinders the club being able to bring in top players who expect to earn big salaries.
i said this a few weeks ago, and got my head chewed of by a couple of people. aparently they dont want his sort at the club
Obviously. Xavi Alonso Juan Mata Mario Goetze Gary Cahill Lucho Gonzalez Stevan Jovetic Phil Jagielka Mark Schwarzer Alvarez Joan Gourcuff Kaka (loan) Y'ann M'Villa That's a list of players Arsenal have tried and failed to sign in recent years. (actual bids tabled for these players) Our conservative approach to transfers is what has cost us. (that and poor defensive coaching) We could potentially have had this line up this Seasong: -------------------Sczezney------------------ Sagna----Cahill--------Vermaelen----Santos --------------M'Villa-----Wilshere------------ ------------------Goetze---------------------- Gervinho---------VanPersie---------Mata Or Perhaps... -----------------------Sczezney---------------------- Sagna----Metesacker-------Jagielka----Vermaelen Walcott-------M'Villa--------Wilshere---------Mata ------------------KAKA ----------------------VanPersie
heres my wishlist if we had Usmanov's cash: Goetze (Needs no explanation) Samba (Dominant in the air) Kagawa (The other Dortmund Youngster, also looks promising) Jagielka (Multiple talents) M'Villa (A real DM, got to be better in the tackle than song) Those should guarantee a top 3 finish.
Thats just not true Jayram Although I completely agree with you that our defensive coaching is piss poor. Any TOP QUALITY side would have wiped the floor with that Blackburn team. I think our 2003-2004 squad for example would have beaten them without ANY coaching or tactical instructions of any kind.
