The first name that comes to mind is Adriano Basso who on google is listed as an unemployed goalkeeper - so there, be careful what you wish for.

End of season rant at those who thought they were better than Bristol City, or who at least took us as mugs by their overhyped attitudes on and off the field.

The thing with Basso was that even his agent was telling him to sign the new contract with City

Tom Heaton is another one, what was he thinking about when he left us. His career has gone downhill now <laugh>

Basso will always be held in the highest regard by me, fantastic keeper for City.
Ok, he wanted to leave - what's wrong with ambition.

And we will never know what part GJ had in his leaving.
GJ causes 'issues' within a dressing room, it's part of his management style.
Numerous City players experienced GJ's 'style' ending in fights at Reading and Plymouth.
Ishmael Miller and Paddy Madden are the latest to 'cross' GJ.

    No - Basso's a City legend.

Yeah I don't think Basso should ever be labelled a "has been" by city fans. He is now nearly 40 so where would you expect him to be? He left us and joined a premier league side then played a good part for Hull in the championship whilst we struggled.

    "Has beens"....... Nicky *unt

Basso played 13 games for Hull (none for Wolves) after he left us

And Herewithin lies the enigma that is GJ, in his time at City he most certainly got the very very best out of previously ordinary players such as Basso and McIndoe but once they started believing their own hype he could not handle them and his short man syndrome (SMS) bully boy tactics came to the fore and was ultimately his undoing.

In terms of wanting to better himself I do not blame Basso or any other, but when NO-ONE wanted him and still he felt he was too damn good for us then he lost my respect, and I can see why GJ got the hump with him tbh. But I must add it does not tarnish what he did for us, same with McIndoe and GJ for that matter, just sad how it all ended!

'but when NO-ONE wanted him and still he felt he was too damn good for us then he lost my respect'

This is the bit I'll never be sure of, the crafty cockney had plenty to say at the time.
And he club would publish only on GJ's say so, nothing 'went out' without his blessing.
It's the same at YTFC, he vets the questions before they're asked.
GJ's a cart load of monkeys to deal with.

'But I must add it does not tarnish what he did for us, same with McIndoe and GJ for that matter, just sad how it all ended!'

    Amen to that.

ps - I'll never change my mind about GJ (including blatant nepotism).
Perhaps a few on here might if he ends up with the Sags one day.

    "Prowed" ?

My goodness, the grammar and spelling gets more incredible every time that Gasheads invade our site.

For the information of the Blue Brethren it is the adjective "proud" that is used to signify that you "have pride in".
The front end of ships and aeroplanes has nothing to do with your pride!
