NnFollowing this story in the Chichester paper, and I assume the News as well: http://www.chichester.co.uk/sport/f...sure-over-pompey-contract-timeframe-1-5581655 Skysports have written this piece: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8971982/ In the first, the article states that Wallace has expressed a desire to remain at Pompey beyond this season and Wallace himsef explains that he's still talking with Mark Catlin (Cheif Executive) about his contract terms but has yet to sign and is unsure of when exactly he will sign and he is playing it by ear, whereas the second picks up the final statement from Ian McInnes that if the right bid came in then the club would sell and builds a whole article around that ignoring Wallace's own comments. Must be a slow news day
I suspect Wallace is holding on to see whether our season is going to improve and we move up the table so he can try and squeeze a little more money out of the club. He knows that if he stays then he will get games but, if he moves to a Championship or even Premiership club, he is likely to get fewer games but a higher wage. However much he wants to play, money talks. Now, if I was running the club, I would try and strike a deal with him that he can move on at the end of the season if the club does not achieve his ambitions this year. If we get promoted he may well stay, if not he moves on in the summer. If he is being honest in his statements of wanting to stay then he'll sign. If not he'll leave in the January window. We used to be a selling club and we have no choice but to be one again. Get used to it.
The Chi Observer doing football reports, whatever next! If you want really dull MAJR, back in the day, the Observer used to print reports on the Chichester Townswomen's guild outings. I remember reading one once, I think they'd been to Wisley flower show or something equally titillating and it actually mentioned the fact that tea was taken at Petworth on the return journey.
