wallace staying?!

is their really much point? if his 3 game ban is followed, then he will play one more game before he leaves (2 if we go through to FA cup 2nd round)
quite a cost, and if he was successful in that last game, would the toffees let him stay another month?!
 
i thought he(Wallace) may have had an extension to his loan after his month even. but with GT getting the same type of midfielder here on another loan, perhaps not!!.....perhaps that might be the last we ever see of him...
 
i am hopeful that everton will want his loan extended as it is in everton's interest to see their lad play regular football, althought i note he now has competition from the cardiff loanee.
 
Are you serious? I got the impression the loan was for an initial month with a view to extending it, so why would anything have changed? We won't get to see much of him in that month, so the loan might as well be extended for another month anyway, as I'd expect Everton are paying most of his wages.

If he's a player we tried to get in the summer and then went after again in the autumn, why on earth would we bin him off after 20 minutes?

The guy's on the fringes of a good Premier League squad, has recent L2 experience (and as a 19 year old captain) and international experience - all of that puts him ahead of Wildig in my book. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy to see Wildig do well and stay on but I'll be astonished and disappointed if we give up on Wallace now. I don't think we will.

I don't think Everton would want him back on the strength of one good L2 performance. I think he might be here for the season.
 
i totally understand what you are saying..but why have two very similar young midfielders with limited experience, when most of our regular midfielders will be back in a couple of weeks?...makes very little sense to me.

That's what makes me think we will be signing Wallace in January if he plays well, and obviously GT wants to have a look at him. He can still play in the friendly games as they are not reserve games and not governed by the FA!!

im not convinced Everton will let him go, this lad is a class act, and has signed a one year extension, no disrespect to ourselves, but he could easily apply his trade further up the tree than with us!

A one year contract says Everton aren't yet sure. But I agree, he's likely to have other options than us. However, none of that affects the likelihood of him having an extended stay at the Meadow. The Chronicle today reports that he's asked to stay and continue to train with Shrews - he'd just go back to Everton if he wasn't likely to stay on.

As for Wildig, I don't know. Yes they're both young and quite inexperienced (though not completely) but are they similar? I haven't seen either play so I couldn't say. Even if they are, if they do similar things that our current midfielders don't then I'd be happy for both to stay. Let's see how Wildig plays before we get ahead of ourselves.
 
well, so long as the two new boys don't upset the balance of the team!!..and the other regular full time players don't take the hump...it does happen!!
 
i think the competition for places in midfield should only spur the rest of the players, i like wroe and mcallister, but do they have enough class to win the league? being honest with myself, no.
Its worth a shot shuffling the pack.
My main point at the top of the page- is it worth paying wallaces wages just for one more performance if we could get someone else? well it looks like we can do both, i cant wait to see wallace in a town shirt for 90 minutes! i live in cardiff and the boys down here were impressed with Wildig when he played a lot in 2009/10 (the season they got to the playoff final!!) and cant understand why hes out of favour. fingers crossed on that one.
FAO mr WILDIG, anything better than 25 mins will be greatly appreciated!!
