Well here it is the long awaited penultimate game of the season and nothing less than a win will do to keep our fate in our own hands so its do or die and also hope our Isthmian League friends the Daggers can do us a favour and beat the Cobblers so both sides can settle with a draw and resume our banter next season I personally hope for a little skulduggery before kick off and a delayed start due to crowd congestion of maybe 45 minuets. Gareth Ainsworth is keeping his cards close to his chest with the fitness of the lads but we hope we have all seen the last of former Pirate Joe Kuffour apart from if he scores a hat-trick but the chances of that are about the same as the donkey doing the same. I won't be at this one its the wife's birthday and booked a day out months ago but I will be on the internet somehow keeping abreast of the proceedings or one ear glued to the radio hoping for a Chairboys win. Keeping the faith PS: Wishing the best of luck to the Daggers the Stags the Iron and the Dons Live scores L2 Table as it stands The shared match thread is here.
Torquay aren't down yet and are playing well. They won't be giving up and they could be the ones to send us down. Firstly we need Mansfield to take at least a point from Torquay tomorrow, and for Daggers to take all 3 from Northampton. If that happens then whoever wins our match is safe and the loser must win their remaining game to stay up. If we draw we must both win our remaining game to stay up. If Northampton win tomorrow we are in deep trouble. If Torquay win tomorrow they may not even get relegated, which makes it really frightening, very, very frightening.
I know torquay aren't down yet ron but I cant see them escaping. I would be amazed if 2 of us, rovers and Northampton failed to pick up anything in these do-or-die games
pray for a northampton and exeter defeats tomorrow then it makes no difference whatever result in our game is.
How do you work that out Jack? There is still another match to lose after ours. If either of us lose one of our last 2 matches we could be down. But yes I am praying Northampton lose tomorrow. I am also praying Torquay don't win tomorrow. I'd hate to be relying on beating Torquay away to stay in the league, especially if a win for Torquay keeps them up. I wish we were sitting on 53 points right now; this is making my brain hurt.
If Torquay don't win today they are down if Northampton loose Rovers or ourselves will be safe with a win either today or next week and Exeter and Morecambe will just need a point to be safe this is all assuming there is not a glut of goals in the last final games if Torquay win and Northampton don't loose it all goes down to the final games
what i mean is if northampton lose today then no matter what happens in our game, northampton will remain 2nd bottom and we go into the last game of the season where for both of us its still in our own hands. so as i said, if northampton lose it makes no difference what the result is in our game. the chances of staying up is will be greater the more teams involved in the dogfight. so exeter losing and morecambe losing will be good news for us both. how many times this season have all northampton, exeter, morecambe, torquay and either rovers/wycombe have won on the same day???? i can bet not many! so its doubtful it will all happen today
Ainsworth seems happy to get a draw - not sure what planet he is on Northampton will win today Prediction for today WW 0 Gas 2 (jeez hope I'm wrong but have a very bad feeling about today) Will this be karma for the abandoned game? Lets hope that its settled without an controversy today. Nerves won't stand it - may have to go and sit in the beer garden for the afternoon!
I keep watching this; it gets more emotional each time Luke says it's going to be shown on the big screen before the kick off.
100% this unless it goes in our favour of course and not yours in all seriousness it would be so bad it a bad decision settles this game like a clear offside goal given or a goal that shouldnt have been given as was offside but not given. a bad penalty decision given or even not given. a early red card when it wasnt even a foul. the standard of officials are poor in our league so i wont be surprised to see the officials effect the result!
dont worry, just found it....... Wycombe Wanderers v Bristol Rovers Ref: DAVID COOTE Assistants: Adam Nunn and Andy Newbold Fourth Official: Graham Scott
oh ****. i just looked at what games this ref has been involved with in a rovers game. he was the ref in rovers vs wycombe game last season. not the game that got abandoned which we were winning 3-1 but for the replay of the abandoned game that we lost 2-0. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/bristol-rovers/schiedsrichterdetail/verein_2455_4137.html
Ref Coote. Oh dear. When I was a kid and didn't know what some swear words were, I was at the zoo with my mum & dad and I was looking into the middle of this pond where a bird was sat. Having heard some grown ups nearby, I went to my mum and cheerfully declared that it was a C***. I hope this ref doesn't turn out to be one.
He hass issued 4 reds and 98 yellows in 32 game this season which is not bad compared to some of the useless ****s we've had this season. Let's hope he realises how important this game is and takes it into account before showing any cards.
