According to our friends at talkSPORT, some clubs in two nearly bankrupt countries in Europe are interested in signing Kyle Walker. Why would they want to increase the debt of their respective country? I just don't get where these rumours come from? Walker has tried desperately hard for a good couple years to get into the Spurs team. He finally made it and has looked like he's been in it for years. The fans love him (not only for scoring a scorcher and winner against Arsenal) and he has been instrumental in many of the games. Assuming that these rumours are true, what would be the going rate of a promising 21 (22?) year old, established premier league right back? As well, if he was sold, who should Spurs replace him with?
I'd rather not assume anything, if he goes to either of those though, I'll eat my ****! Looks like its going to start costing Spurs to keep the team with a ****load of new deals soon though...had to happen.
People, you know that as soon as Spurs start to do well the knives come out for our best players. Before January is out more than half our team will have been sold or on the verge of,by these hacks. Its just sheer jealousy that does it, we have the hide to be doing better than Chelsea,Liverpool Arsenal- how dare we be above them in the league!
Typical journo crap mate. Though IF the rumour of interest is true, I highly doubt Levy would allow Walker to go for anything less than £20m-£25m, he's young, now an England international, contract until 2016 and more importantly, he has Daniel Levy for a chairman! I wouldn't be surprised if Levy took a "Modric-eqsue" stance and rejected any offer though.
They have just not come to terms with the shift in power yet. They all wrote off Spurs at the beginning of the season and are in denial that they were so badly wrong. Watching the Fulham game the description of Liverpool bore no resemblance to the bland team in red I was watching. Perhaps a little watching of the football might help their writing to bear some relation to reality.
60 million and they can have him!,no they can't.He's as important to the team as Modric,so he should be not for Sale, you don't see £ity, united,or Chelsea selling players when chasing the title
Roma are basically Liverpool in Italy Real Madrid could tempt young Walker but I doubt it's true. Eitherway a move at this stage of his career could really mess things up for him, he's on the verge of being the first choice right back for England, even though he's had a couple of poor games recently. Any move to a huge club like Real could put that in jeopardy as he has to fight for his starting place at club level all over again.
Do you really think England would be a consideration? Having said that, he'll stay for a while yet. I sense all the players want to see where this will end up.
Even if all he cared about was money, England would bring a lot more of it in sponsorships, holding the FA to ransom over bonuses, etc.
Aren't Real Madrid doing rather well at the moment with Ramos as their right-back or has he moved inside to centre-half now?
Can't see any of our top players leaving this window,i'm sure they know they're playing in a very good team atm, which has a chance to be something special. In a way it's a compliment to have these rumours flying around as it shows we are playing very well. Now all we have to do now is win something!
He will be gone if a big club come in for him so will Bale and if you were not holding Modric hostage he would be off too. Don't kid yourselve's your manager will be gone in the summer and all your good player's will be off to big club's and you will back to where you belong in mid table.
Christ alive! Just when we thought we'd have to fight the "Bale/Modric to [name of hack-journo invented team]" we now have the prospect of running the gauntlet of "Walker to [name of hack-journo invented team]" rumours! Yes, of course! It all makes perfect sense, doesn't it? Levy/Harry spend a lot of time, effort and money in building the perfectly balanced side in order to rise above Chelsea and Arsenal, and to remain above Liverpool for the foreseeable future, only to blow it all on our eve of success by selling off three of our most gifted and central players! Do these hack-journo idiots actually think through the conclusions to the garbage they invent? Obviously not.
