Apart from the the usual few fans who seem to enjoy arguing I hope the majority in Wales support Swansea during this season. We do not need three points playing them so why not give them some credit. To point out a few who do not represent true fans should not mean we cannot support a Welsh team in the premiership. To me the ideal situation if for them to survive and for us to get promotion, that seems a far better prospect.
Ideally I would like us both to be in the Premiership next season, but if we don't go up then a South Wales derby in the Champ it is!
I think they looked ok last night...they might survive on that display against a lot of lower teams they will do much better.
I have an answer and a question for you jck200 My answer in regards to supporting Swansea in the Premier is absolutely not, I personally dont understand how any Cardiff fan could watch the Jacks playing and want them to win. Im not criticising those who do but I hate Swansea and thats all there is to it so why would I want them to win? Just my opinion. My question is does this sentence suggest anyone of my way of thinking is not a true fan or am I just reading this the wrong way? 'To point out a few who do not represent true fans should not mean we cannot support a Welsh team in the premiership.'
I don't hate Swansea, all banter, however harsh I put it. But I certainly don't feel the need to support them in any way, cerrtainly not to the extent of hoping they win in preference to another team, just because they are Welsh. Proximity makes them rivals, both being Welsh adds to that, makes the Derbys special in a different way to the Sheffields and Liverpool/Everton, Man City/Man U who all live in the same cities and rub shoulders with each other all the time. This is what a lot don't understand, and it is what makes for fierce competition in a way you dont get with the others. I wouldn't be bothered if they done ok this season form a Welsh point of view because thats oneupmanship on the English who keep telling us we don't belong in THEIR leagues, but would also be smiling broadly if they were to fail miserably.
From a Cardiff point of view, I'm not bothered what they do in the premiership, good luck to them but not arsed either way. Fro a Welsh point of view, well national pride aside the only thing Welsh about the Swans and Cardiff for that matter is the geographic location of the head office aka the liberty and the CCS, nothing more.
jck200, I've questioned your loyalty and even your name before and you never commented. I really do not give a toss about the jacks or anything to do with them, and personally I wish you would stop tarring us with the same brush saying "WE" wish them well. Let me let you into a little secret. "WE" don't wish them well at all. You might so just say that. I don't wish them ill, but I don't wish them well. I actually have no feelings about them at all. I began a thread a few days ago complaining about so many threads on the Famous Cardiff City board that are about another team. You either didn't bother to read it or you are totally unfeeling about the opinions of others or you are just a WUM, which I have suspected for some time. Are you saying that if I do not publicly declare my wish for that team to remain in the Premeir League then I am not a true Cardiff City fan? Because that's what it looks like to me. For me the ideal situation is for people to stop starting jack threads on here and for Cardiff City to get promoted. I don't care about anything else and I don't like you either speaking for me or if I dont agree with you implying that I am not a true supporter. As I said, speak for yourself, not for me!
Quiet happy to see you in the premiership with us..as long as the banter is premiership as well and although it can get heated at times it would be for the best re welsh football in the long term
I must admit, I'd like to see the swans do well and I wished them good luck. I'd like to see Norwich do okay too and I'll look for their results on match days. If they fail I won't lose sleep over it but I won't rejoice either. At the end of the day most important is Cardiff City, end of.
Saints and Pompey are both English and Hampshire clubs, and I definitely do NOT want to see those skates do well! Wouldn't be averse to seeing Saints and City go up mind!
I respect your opinion but it's a tad naive IMO. Win,lose or draw, nothing they do affects CCFC so therefore doesn't affect me. Same for Wrexham, Newport etc. The only time we're 'all together' is when Wales play but even then I'm apathetic (mainly because they are pathetic) Having said all that, a few more results like Monday's wouldn't go a miss...its been nice and peaceful on here the past few days
Naturally we want Cardiff to get great results and that does not change no matter what happens at Swansea. Just thought one post wishing them well would not go astray. They will get some bad results but I am hardly going to worry about that when we have enough to do this season. Only one thought in my mind right now and that is the game tonight against Brighton. We need three points from every game but we still can`t be sure how good the team is based on two wins...a win tonight and we can say this is definitely a lot better than anyone expected.
jck, you say you aren't worrying about them but you keep on talking about them, you seem to mention them in lots of posts. H Bomb had it right, at best it is naive, at worst its a deliberate mention of them on the Famous Cardiff City board to give them the excuse to come on and start all their ****e again, using the fact that it is a thread about them as an excuse. Please stop!
Different leagues different objectives. A welsh derby in the PL will be great for welsh football, but until we are in the same league I don't care what happens with Swansea town, they are obssessed with us not the other round.
I agree with H Bomb and Xsnaggle. I don't care what happens to them. If you want to wish them well, go on their board and do it. @Tafu I think he means that having 2 succesful welsh teams will improve welsh footballing standard in the future. Mainly due to more interest with kids and improving the selection pool size.
Look if I can`t post an opinion close the thread. I am not telling anyone what to post, either the forum is open or it is a closed shop for those who just want their own opinions posted. This was the one thread I set aside to avoid conflicts that are going on and on without any comment from me on most threads here. When I go on threads to do with our team and our games what do I find? I am not the one arguing endlessly on trivial matters for one upmanship.
I don't wish them ill. I do have to admit, however, that the more of their "fans" that post here the more it makes me go from "Well, I don't mind if they stay up" to "I hope they get flogged every week, so those pillocks will get off our board!"
You're entitled to post whatever opinion you want to mate but at the same time, so is everybody else. Very few threads get closed on here and CCFC is more 'open' than a few boards I could mention. It's how the majority on here want it to be and it's what separates this from the old beeb 606. Whether thats a good thing or a bad thing is open to debate but from a personal point of view, I prefer it that way. We're never all going to agree on everything but the one thing we all have in common is our Bluebirds. I completely agree with your point on the arguing in some threads though, which is why I stay out of most of it as its not my thing. View attachment 6580
A "few" in context means the few who post on the forum compared to the thousands who don`t. I hope that clarifies the position.
