We've always been a little low key on here in our support for Wales but after last night's win and the possibility of qualification for France on Sunday I thought we should raise the bar a little. Excellent win last night and what a header from Bale. I guess the 3,000+ fans out in Cyprus will have attempted to drink the place dry last night. Could also be a quite a few half Welsh/half Cypriot kids called Dai or Gareth running around the island in a year or two. Oh yes, anyone got a spare ticket for Sunday? Unlikely I know, but my brother in law from Poole (born and bred in Newport which makes him Welsh, just about) would love to come up for the game. If anyone has one or knows of someone with a spare please pm me.
It's in touching distance and dare I say it, but well done Chris Coleman. Now that hurt. A great time for Welsh football and hopefully this will see more kids pick up a round shaped ball.
True Vetch. Unless City draw your lot in the cup, Wales games are the only times we will see a full CCS this season.
Yeah you boys haven't been as vocal as I would have expected in regards to Wales. Isit more a Coleman thing or just board inactivity? (I know this post could probably be read a thousand different ways but please take it as a genuine question).
General inactivity on here Swans-m. The last 2 seasons have been a bit of a kick in the nuts for us so the number of posters has reduced by 50%+ and a lot of those who still post are not such frequent visitors. They're not visiting the club as much either - see reduced attendances to about 15k. Wales has never been a really hot topic on here, not sure why. Good thread on the Swans 606 site though. Coleman, for obvious reasons, has never really been a flavour of the month on here but people are slowly coming around to recognise what he has achieved (see Taff's post above for evidence of this) with Wales after taking on the job in very difficult circumstances. Aside from what goes on here, I know loads of guys from the Bridgend area (mostly Bluebirds) who have been all over Europe with Wales in this campaign so the physical support is there just not the enthusiasm on this board. That could change if our season brings some success.
we got great support for the boys in the grounds......a forum doesn't mean nowt support wise really......sort of like the jacks have a good thread going on a forum but don't turn up at wales games........weird init
Bit unfair Aber. I'm in the Ninian Stand along with a number of other posters. Sorry if you think I'm boring.
on a personal level ive no doubt most grandstand fellas are bubbly but when it comes 2 a collective I find it a very boring area of any ground not just Cardiff but all clubs>>>>>>>>>>fk me what got me hooked on Cardiff was the day my dad took me down 2 the last game of the season against wallsall fk knows when but we got relegated>>>I was standing on the terrace beneath the grand stand and you know what got me going back down>>>>>the bob bank terrace atmosphere>>>>>>>that got into my heart and my head more than anything. its just my opinion but if the whole ground sat there like the grandstand did mostly silent then the game wouldn't be half the spectacle........... if it means anything 2 you its nowt personal, fk me most of my old terrace mates are in there and all now(boring fkrs lol)..........its just not my cup of tea
Agree with this bit Aber - its just my opinion but if the whole ground sat there like the grandstand did mostly silent then the game wouldn't be half the spectacle........... Having been in hospitality a few times it can be quiet as the grave over there. Mind you the whole place has been on the subdued side lately.
cheers bfb.....twas not always rocking at ninian park but when a team has a sign of fight in them our boys are one of the best for giving their backing.....from what ive heard so far there is a sign our boys have that sort of fight so no doubt crowds will rise if current form continues.....lets hope it does hey because like you say welsh football is on a crest of good fortune at present and we don't wanna miss the wave.
exactly bfb.......but we are celebrated in west wales for being strong swimmers so much so they even wrote it into folklore and still sing songs about us
He will be very lucky to get a ticket . And where was he when we were s##t? Reminds me of City's cup run - every man and his dog wanted one
Cheeky bugger. Buy your own beer today!!! As you well know I've block booked tickets for all competitive tournaments for the last 20+ years.
So tired this morning after yesterdays match - woken up this morning by two calls asking me if I can get them Andorra tickets
