Wales v Czech Republic International - Friendly Venue - Cardiff City Stadium Date - 29 March 2022 Kick off - 7:45pm Following their deserved 2-1 win over Austria, Wales now have a friendly match against the Czech Republic rather than the Play-Off Final against either Scotland or Ukraine due of course to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. Wales will he without former Swan Ben Davies and also midfielder Dylan Levitt on Tuesday evening. Davies has returned to Tottenham as a precaution, while Levitt - on loan at Dundee United from Manchester United - has left Wales' squad due to illness. The FAW has already announced funds from the game against the Czechs will go towards the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. I suspect that Robert Page could well ring the changes for this friendly, with key players like Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. With nothing other than pride at stake for both teams, I’m going for a 1-1 draw
Obviously this game does not carry the importance that the Austria game did, but I still think it's a chance to see what else we have. Outside of the starting 11 against Austria, the bench seemed a worry to me with no real proven ability. I'm hoping we get to see a bit of what those bench players are capable of. COME ON WALES.
Well you forecast that correctly Taff....the Czechs seemed to control the game but didn’t like the pace of Matondo Thomas and Johnson each of whom were thwarted by over exuberance or class goal keeping...Bale made a ten minute cameo and nearly scored twice.Wales carry on the unbeaten home run.....
That’s class that is....I think there are quite a few Swans fans starting to get sleepless nights thinking about whether we can get the record...or not
Just realised that I had the score for the Austrian match correct as well. Going for a hat-trick at Legoland: 2-1 to the Swans
A well deserved draw. Having to come from behind sparked them into life when they equalised. Looked confident from then on.
Great to see the name of a Swansea business - and, of course, a Swans’ sponsor - displayed so prominently at last night’s game:
