up 45 places to 45, ahead of scotland (51) & northern ireland (85).

we're still in pot 6 for the world cup qualifying though, i read somewhere that we'd be in pot 3 if the draw was now, i think i read also that the draw is usually made later so theres still something for people to moan about <laugh>

Not all doom and gloom today then!!!

The position is probably a correct reflection when compared to Scotland and N Ireland. The WC qualifiers with the Jocks will be a bit tasty.

The world rankings are a nonsense, they would be a joke if they didn't effect WC and Championship draws <ok>

Good to see. I've never been one for the theory that says having Welsh teams in the Prem is good for the national team, but in particular Joe Allen and Ash Williams may be proving that idea is wrong, not sure. Allen has really caught the eye at that level imo.

    Wales v Norway. Cardiff City Stadium, Sat 12th November, 2011 ko 3:00pm. Adults £10. U16's £1

Wales have arranged a friendly against Norway for Saturday, 12 November, which will be played at the Cardiff City Stadium with a 1500 GMT kick-off.

Norway missed out on a Euro 2012 play-off place after losing out on goal difference to Portugal in Group H.

Wales finished fourth in Group G but ended their campaign with encouraging wins over Bulgaria and Switzerland.

It will be the first meeting between the countries since a 3-0 win for Wales on 6 February, 2008.
