So guys... Is he worth 100k? Shall we break the salary rules, which we didn't for RVP?

How would we do w/o him?

Keep him... dont give a **** about salary rules... It's either his pocket or Kroenke's... I'd rather the former at least then we keep our best players.

No coincidence that we have improved in attack as soon as he was put back in the first team.

He would get 150k at other clubs probably. Let him have his 100k!

I thought the hold up was due to his demands to play as striker. As for the salary I've been a constant supporter of theo but if it is the money then let him leave no player is bigger than the club.

Do you trust Wenger/Gazidis to buy a replacement though?

That's a good question to which I must say not sure about wenger but definitely don't trust gazidis...however does that make it right to,give In to exorbitant wage demands?

It is always about money - one way or another.

He needs to be offered a very good salary and given assurances he will be moving into the central role over the next 2-3 years and that at his age this leaves him plenty of time to become a top, top striker.

Today when he moved to play centrally he scored a great goal.

I see where he's coming from if his demands are to become a striker but he needs time. If it Is indeed wages I'm excess of £150K per week then let him go.

I dont think he's any more likely to play striker at Liverpool, if he does go there then its because of wages

If he only wants 100k, we should go for it. It's rumoured that Podolski earns more than 100k a week, so Theo should too.

If that is the case I agree. I feel he deserves wages of top earner at the club but not In transgression of our wage structure.

In the context of this debate your reference to "club" =salary caps..These caps only benefit the owner...dont be fooled into thinking that it benefits the club or fans (paying the highest ticket prices in Europe despite the caps).... If we really wanted to act for the benefit of the club then we will keep our best players and pay market rates...Wenger needs to stop giving average ****e £50k a week contracts. What use are salary caps if we still sit near the very top of the wage bill table?

Certain players are worth breaking the wage structure for. Statistically, Theo IS our attack this season, he has the majority of our goals and assists.

I doubt podolski and santi will take that lying down. It creates a domino effect.

I'd say he's worth 80-85k, but Arsenal would be able to pay him 100k a week if that's what it had to come to, it's not like it'd be impossible for us. Let's get the likes of Arshavin and Squilachi off the bloody payroll, and it will free up A LOT of money. Someone said Arshavin's getting 90k a week?????????

Wenger had the idea of a young squad on similar wages all growing up together to become some kind of dream team. We all know how that turned out but for some reason they stuck with the wage system

As I've said before he deserve the maximum wages within our structure but nothing more than that. As arsenal87 has pointed out far less deserving players are being paid substantially high wages.
