Walcott wants to play as a striker. Will he now go on to be ours?

It sounds to me like Walcott wanted to take over Van Persies role.

Walcott has pace, agility, makes good runs and IS a good finisher. He will also click right into a interchangeable front three.

People say he doesn't score enough goals. He got 11 last season, that could be 11 more for us. We need all the goals we can get at the moment.

I've never been a Walcott fan - he has the physical and technical attributes to be devastating but he lacks game intelligence. He often makes the wrong decision.

But as mentioned above, he has pace, he's got assists and goals. He would definately improve our attack.

Thanks for the info Mrs Walcott. Firstly those stats hardly prove he's a deadly finisher. Secondly most players in his position at Arsenal score lots simply because of the way The Gunners play. Thirdly he would cost a lot in wages...and as we know FSG won't like that. Fourthly wouldn't we have to sell first to fund him? Suarez to leave then? Finally...we are currently in a relegation position...hardly pole position to sign anyone nevermind a player who will want CL football rather than total mediocrity.

Frankly however highly you rate Walcott or any of us rate other players we are currently in a totally ****e position to sign anyone. We won't even match a club like the spuds on wages (nevermind Arsenal) and we are a million miles off CL football. Expect more Danny Graham than Theo Walcott in January (if we sign anyone at all that is).

The owners have said they are willing to pay big money/wages on the right players <ok>

I just don't think Walcott is worth the kind of money he will want. I would rather us continue to bring through the younger players, maybe Morgan or Yesil could step up and get us goals.

I wouldnt have Walcott as our main, go to, rely on this guy striker. But I feel he would improve us and would sit well with a rotatable/ interchangeable quad of Suarez, Borini, Walcott and one other.

I know Walcott wont revolutionize us. But he can improve us.

True. My only concern is that he's likely to command a fee of about £12-15m. Could this money be better spent for a more proven goal scorer/striker? As opposed to a player who thinks he can play CF?

Take that 15 mil we would spend on him, add another 5 to it ( because we have to have it with all the wages saved and players sold) and buy Llorente or Soldado for 20 mil.

Or recall Carroll from loan with Fergie's Brown Noser, and save the entire £20mil...

    Simples.

Bloody Hell! Carroll AND Llorente in the same team? Downing might be worth something then...
