I call it as I see it..........some players seem to think to turn up is enough.....a bunch of indiviguals v a proper team...they knew what they were doing, we didn't...no width...wrong formation, wrong personal, nothing up front...some of our team had the wrong attitude...apart from kasper.... he can hold his head high.....sorry, yuki is not up to it...thought this for a while, now convinced...playing schlupp from the start was a major mistake...im not a massive howard fan but we need his nouse from the start today, then bring the lad on.,message to matt mills, wake up!..there was a serious lack of creativity in midfield today...no wingers...we played into readings hands...ive seen this before...so i won't panic....but alot of work needs to be done on the training ground,or mr.ericksson your players will make a fool out of you...signing big names ain't enough....we are there to be shot at now...we were machine gunned today... ps. on a happier note, the BIG west midlands derby....brum v chavs....19,000 pitiful....im praying for a wake up call for our lads...........

Agree with everything you say tbh. And frankly, the fact that we can all see what's wrong makes it even more annoying that Sven can't.

I think we showed a lot of passion and fight until we went 1-0 down, then our heads dropped completely. I think that's a problem with all this pressure - contrast it to the delirious celebrations when Peltier scored last week. They are too emotional and seem scared of failure. They need a calm head to stop everyone else panicking. In that sense having a team and not just individuals is even more important - they must be able to rely on each other and fight for each other. Team-spirit is another thing I bemoaned last season, we will really need some this season. Is Mills experienced enough, calm enough, confident enough to be captain? I'd dispute it. Not that I'm making any single player a scapegoat for today.

The system and mentality of the line-up was wrong, players were played out of position and we've got nowt once we go over the halfway line. Need work on the trainging ground yes and we also need signings. UP FRONT!

Just for a bit of balance...

when we ran away with League One, we lost an early home game to Millwall. It turned out to be our only home defeat of the season. We also did not go into the top 2 until November and spent most of August outside the top 6.

I know we are all hurting a bit after today but it might not mean much in the big scheme of things, which is the 46 game season. Listening to Sven in the car after the game, it sounded like he did know that we were very sub-standard today and by the hung heads trudging off the pitch, I think the players know it too.

Let's hope for better on Wednesday and get things back on track.

    (cue a hat-trick for Maynard.)

Aye I remember that Millwall game, now THAT was bad, definitely the worst performance I've ever seen from us.

I'm not panicking yet but I want to see a vast improvement on Wednesday night, the team selection has to change for us to be successful, today's performance was more than a bad day at the office, it was evidence of a team which is clearly lacking in certain areas, which cannot be solved by just moving on like we did after that Millwall game, we need to address these issues, mainly with signings.

As long as Sven does address them I won't worry, because we do have potential.

YES, we have seen this all before...yes the payers can put it right...but on the opening game of our home season, why did the players, (all on very good contracts) not respond with any passion and belief in front of THEIR fans? they could not shake off the cloud they all seemed to be under....kasper excluded..?

The pressure's only going to get worse if they keep losing. They must remember that this week and go into the Bristol match with determination to put things right. If they let this result get to them it's going to be even more difficult.

TBF I think they put in a poor but wholehearted and passionate performance before the first goal. Then their body language told the story.

Bit of an overreaction? And also unrealistic?

I really don't think most of the individuals were that bad, 2 or 3 were shocking but it was the collective that failed most of all. The subs (King for example) were no better than the starters.

untill we get a seasoned striker in, we should keep howard...play nugent off him for an hour then see where we are...he has experience, and it needs some experienced heads for bristol... another bad result would be a disaster ..on and off the pitch....i wouldn't panic but many will.........

Not a bad idea. We just need a win somehow, Howard would put himself about and make something of the long balls. Obviously only a temporary solution but if we can just win the next game anyhow before we get the striker in, the players will feel a lot better and more confident.
