Sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but I'm glad this has happened today rather than scrapping a few lucky points and finding the window closed. If ever there was a clear and unequivocal message that we need AT LEAST five premier quality players, this was it. Our opponents had the worst away record in the league last season and with several injuries they were the type of opposition we need to put away to ensure survival. The worst thing about today was the capitulation after the 2nd goal, a reminder of pre-Warnock days. The next week is going to be very interesting...

Totally agree, I was praying for a fifth, sixth and seventh, I really cannot be bothered worrying about this any more.
Getting the hump and feeling down because some big fat orange ****'s play thing is being led to the slaughter.
Can you imagine what would have happened had it been Man Utd there today, totally clueless without shape or ideas it could easily have been double figures.
Good luck with the rest of the season, I for one will not be losing any more sleep over it, life is too short.

Let's face it, if we're all honest, that result didn't really come as a surprise did it?

To be honest Bolton under could are a decent side. Maybe if dj's goal had been given it might have gone differently but let's face it this was going to happen sooner rather than later

Looks like you have replaced the Swans as favourites to get relegated. Not looking good. We might be joining you at the bottom come Monday night.

Sadly, no. Dyer's injury was a hammer blow so early, but the defence just isn't up to it. The side also seems to lack balance, players switching around without really creating any impact. A very bad day at the office but hopefully the Goons will realise without investment it'll be a long, hard, embarrassing winter.

Sooper, I really hope you are right, but I fear that the Goons have no consciences whatsoever. I doubt they'll be losing any sleep, unless that result devalued their shares of course!

this result could be a blessing in disguise. If the goons thought we could wing it in the premiership then they have had a very rude awakening..everyone on here said we would struggle so the result came as no surprise. You cant compete in the Premiership with a championship team as the goons probably believed..WE NEED SOME QUALITY DEFENDERS AND QUICK!!!!

Here we go with the inquest when it was as clear as day from mid-summer on that we were going to be the whipping boys. Instead we had people predicting top-eight finishes and wins against Chelsea etc.

The "pessimists" as we were called were shot down for stating the bleeding obvious. Briatore is a scum-bag. And signing Gabbidon after his pre-season "performances" was criminal. Again, this isn't hindsight, it was all said on here by various people.

Beating Derby's record was my aim for this squad and it remains so.

Did my best to kid myself all summer, shame the season had to start. Bolton are a decent side, but the top six don't bear thinking about. We knew the players aren't good enough but the lack of shape and a plan is down to Neil. He needs cash, but also has to prove he can handle this level.....

He set the side up to win the Championship, without serious investment that side and the way it plays will be cannon-fodder in the PL. He can only work with what he's given, you pay peanuts you get monkeys...

I think the players today gave their all...even if we buy new players they are unlikely to be Fabregas etc and we have wasted the whole Summer not integrating them into the team.

    Nope we're all here swordster.

Look at this game, we dominated early then dyer gets injured and we go off the boil.

Cahill scores a wonder goal and then 2 are deflected in. Agreed poor defending for 4th but its our first game back and Bolton areno pushovers.

The Wigan game will be a real test as Norwich ran em ragged apparantly and still scraped a point.

Maybe we'll put gorkss and Connolly in - I'm no fan of hall - and recall the ram.

And maybe after this game we'll sign a couple of defenders.

It's one game mate still 37 left to play

No they're not, don't over react. There will be games and results like this.

After 40 odd years of following the rangers and waiting 15 years to get back into the top division I'm not going to let one result spoil things

None of us saw that coming.

"Bolton are no pushovers" What the Fu*k are Manchester United then??! Hold your hands up Wubba, you're digging an even bigger hole for yourself.

Bolton under coyle are a good side who took their chances. Their side is packed with premier league experience, ours isn't.

Dyer was always a risk but on a pay per play basis it's a shame but we move on.

The key is to learn from this and I'm sure we will.

Disappointing yes. End of the world? No.

Get a grip man. My advice is to get the Shiraz open early tonight.

I'll still be at everton and wigan

The worrying part was the second half performance, Bolton were bossing the game and we just seemed to capitulate. We've not seen that before with a Warnock team and God knows what he said in the dressing room afterwards. Hill added to the shambles with his red card right at the end as if we needed that following Dyer's injury. Just a sickening day, let's hope things can only get better but don't bet on it...
