There have been talks of Schlupp from Leicester, but what about Waghorn. Whether or not he would take another league drop is another question, but as my missus is a Leicester fan I know that Waghorn is not getting much of a look in at the club. Matured quite a bit since we had him on loan last. If he would take the drop he would be a great shout on loan for the second time!
He's not a 20-goal a season man... wasn't overly impressed when he was here before. Would rather have Schlupp
I'm happy with BWP and Hayes- potential for 30 goals + easily. But i would take waghorn instantly, just don't think he would drop a league.
With the dough the foxes are chucking about there's plenty of forwards ahead of him in the queue. I can see him ending up at a Championship club if he goes out on loan... Although... could the gaffers links to city come up trumps again?
Not impressed first time round, although you couldn't fault his work rate - the two Foxes at work were pretty satisfied with his form last season.
If I was a player like Waghorn, I would jump at the chance to join Charlton. We are a big club, have a great set-up with a good fan-base. He can score a bundle of goals in L1, earn some glory and plaudits and then be back in the Championship within a year. There is a risk of failure, but a risk is better than sitting on the bench at Leicester or being farmed out to a host of other clubs - again.
Season before last he had a great time in the championship. Too fresh on many managers minds- they were quoting between 1-2mil for him earlier in pre-season.
Glad this got people talking, thought I would start this thread before I left work. Having been in a short while and just checking back it's good to see what people think! However it is a shame it's unlikely, because I think many will agree he would not likely take the drop. But it would be worth a try like others have said with Powells time in the midlands, why not? With reference to a 20 goal a season striker I think BWP could be that player! He is more than capable in my opinion.
Agree about BWP, Sword and even though this might be fairly controversial, I think with the right service Benson could be one too. The service for all the forwards last season was terrible - hopefully with the greatly strengthened and rather more adventurous midfield setup this season, the chances will be greatly increased and a higher percentage converted. I stick with it..."twenty more goals than last season scored, twenty less conceded"
agree with tewksbury, supply is vital this season and hopefully we may see a 20+ goalscorer back at the valley. weve got the strikers to do it and it could be a big season bwp in his full season for us
yer hope he stays notts county would of been the wrong the move for him as he is still got a chance here
