We have moved to new levels in the last couple of years but I was just looking back at players that had left us like Wellens, Dyer, Wood and Waghorn. Waghorn is the only one I think could have still done a job for us, currently going well at Rangers. Anyone else we have let go that could still be doing in our first team squad?
Going back a bit, Gradel was the one who got away. Also, had he not have left i think Lloyd Dyer could have had a squad role here. Ben Marshall and Knockaert should have made it but didnt. And anyone remember the brilliance of Levi Porter!? Went on to play for Hinckley at about 24 i think.
Im pretty sure that this shows how weak the scottish leagues are rather than Waghorns skill. He wouldn't be in our first team at the moment imo. While we are playing 4-4-2, Gradel would be a good shout.
..saw some highlights of Rangers game against Hibs .. Waggy scored a late goal but the defending was truly shocking ..he would not have scored had Fuchs been at left back for Hibs .. Waggy seems full of confidence..which is great ..but the gulf in standards is enormous
