Read in yesterdays Mirror (someone abandoned it in the canteen) that Southampton are planning a £1.5M bid for Waghorn and Sven would accept it. Haven't seen anything from more reputable sources - little bit in http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....fender-Andre/story-13186191-detail/story.html - but what do the rest of you think on £1.5M for a player that hasn't impressed/been given a chance to impress?
I think, randomly, if you read the article i posted about Bikey. Sven was actually questioned about this in the football forum. His response was: 'well thats the first time ive heard of that'...so im thinking there is nothing in it
It's in some of the papers today, but I think you lot will hold out for more then £1.5million for him.
Don't know anything about Waghorn, but not succeeding at one team doesn't necessarily mean a player can't succeed at another club. There are so many variables: recent injury, competition for your position, the manager, the service you receive from team mates. If the player has the skill he may come good after being given a second chance. I'm hoping Fish will do well for Reading for example, though not against us.
The Waghorn story has been going down here for a couple of weeks on various boards. If it is in the mirror then you really should discard the information. For over a year they had been saying we had sold Chamberlain to a variety of clubs up and down the country. They had also been saying each and every week of transfer window that we had sold him. They have linked us with every forward or midfielder or centre back that you can think of that has actually moved including a goalkeeper!!! Somehow if they throw enough players at us one of them just might sign. The strange thing is of the players we did sign not one was actually mentioned in that newspaper until after the act was completed. So in truth they haven't a clue......
Well even with out knowing the source and its credibility (which i do doubt) i can hand on heart say that Waggy will not move unless we sign a striker which has been our main focus for the last month. Currently we're no closer - so i feel this transfer has no legs currently
cracking player under pearson he should go to hull and id wish all the best and thanks for playing with pride
I would love Waghorn to come to Saints. I think he is a cracking little player with a great attitude. However, I do wonder whether he is more of a 'Barnard' type of player rather than the pacy poacher type of player we need?
Southampton have not made a bid for Waghorn Andrew Neville said this last night on the football forum
I think Waggy's only making up the numbers as far as strikers go. As soon as someone comes in he can go for me.
Waggy will do well, but with the influx of money thats come in, hes been left on the sidelines. Then again Nugent and Vassell were frees, and will always be picked above him, so money doesn't really come into it.
