From what I saw, he managed to get ex team mate Hogg sent off and the poached three against 10 men. Still doesn't give the impression that his heart is in it.
First goal was "poached". Other two were good striker's goals. But against a defence all over the place. Would not prosper back at Watford now.
Similar attitude though I'm afraid. I score therefore I can do what I like on the pitch (and off it).
Sad but true the thing with mo is he was class and vidra thinks hes class and has never proved himself in the EPL .If reading paid us 7.5 mil id take it .if Austin is only 4mill then vidra is only 5 mill
Austin has a dodgy knee and had 6 months left on his contract. We should get a fair bit of cash for Vydra if Ross McCormack is worth £11M...
Despite the red card I would welcome Jonathan Hogg back well before Vydra. How much we need players like him (and Eustace) now.
There is now a danger of confusing energy and enthusiasm with class and ability. We are now in a position to look for and attract players with a combination of all these attributes, not just some of them. If we could fuse Hogg with Capoue,Guedioura with Jurado and Vydra with Watson we would have a forward line and midfield, the envy of most clubs in Europe! Roll on genetic mutation.........
Vic...we have too many players whose heads are dropping when the opposition gets the first goal. Is it any coincidence that in all the games we have won we have scored first. There are too many players here who have too little experience of English football, English winters and boggy pitches.
I agree completely, but there is no point in getting in players who keep their heads up, are still enthusiastic at 1-0 down on a wet Wednesday evening, who have great experience of English football but do not have the requisite skill or physique. Much as we loved him in the lower league, would Hogg be effective against most Premiership midfields? Would Vydra's head have stayed up at Saints or Swansea? I have my doubts. That is why it is so difficult to recruit players that will flourish in the Premiership. It may not be the best league in the world - however you define best - but it is the toughest over a season. How many have come to England with great credentials from the European Leagues yet failed to make much of an impression over time?
