VW had first planned to come in much earlier than 2018 and were the biggest motivation behind the crummy idea of an in-line four cylinder engine.

My greatest concern is that the FIA were so willing to accommodate them - almost like a baby Ferrari team really! I like teams who come in without making demands and just get on with competing fairly.

I have reservations about VW/Audi coming into F1. If they announced that they change their mind again, I will be quite happy, thankyou very much.

VW is such a tease, first they're in, then they're out, make up your bloody minds. <steam>

I'd be happy to see vw, should be good competition, but why 2018, 7 years to set up a team to unknown rules? Sounds like PR to me, unless they enter as skoda I probably won't support them.

By 2018 they can just stick a wing on a golf and go racing.

The old man's got a Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI. It's ugly as sin inside but it can certainly pull.

Having loaded it up with all manner of musical equipment, I can heartily vouch for it's strength when loaded up and/or going up hills.

It's a shame that the inside is like the visual equivalent of a holiday in Dagenham.

Its very safe though, I always keep my eyes on the road, even if I catch a glimpse of the dashboard I feel bored.

Haha, yes indeed. I think the best thing I can say about it is that it's the perfect vehicle for my Dad to drive!

Seriously though, if I was given one I wouldn't be unhappy about it! Very good cars, provided that you're not bothered about aesthetics.

Is my favorite car to date, fast(ish) and frugal(ish). I've been naughty and chipped mine a while ago so now it goes like a train, just have to be careful warming and cooling the turbo these days <ok>
