Only listening on 5 Live, but seemed slightly disappointing to go in a goal down. For the first half hour, it seemed as though we were the better team, with Kodjia forcing a smart save from McGovern, but then Norwich started to take control and it sounded like we were sitting very deep and the goal seemed liked just a matter of time. From that point on the only time we pushed people forward was for corners, and each and every one resulted in a Norwich counter. Sounds like some positives, but possibly naive tactics? I understand sitting deep against a talented side, but I feel as though you need to leave at least one and ideally two players up to offer a chance to relieve pressure, otherwise you're likely to give back possession 99% of the time. Similarly for attacking corners, for the majority of the match just get the big men up there (i.e. Flint) and keep prepared for counters - hell, having a number of players just outside the box to eat up clearances is still offensive minded. You can go gung-ho at the end, when conceding wouldn't have much impact, but a goal hugely rewarding. I don't want to be too negative, cause there's still a chance to get something from this. Come on City!
2nd half has sounded moderately promising - we're going toe to toe with one of the better teams in the Division (on paper). If it stays like this, then we can afford to throw players forward towards the end.
1-0 defeat away to the one of the league favourites. Disappointed but not a humiliating result. Bring on Newcastle.
Not to concerned against my favourites for the title. Bring on Newcastle at home to a near capacity. Seems as if we went toe to toe with them.
I watched Sky Sports News until full time. They showed several good saves by O'Donnell to keep the score down. I'm disappointed with the defeat but not surprised, and according at Alan McInally who was watching the match live, we were never out of it while it was only 1-0 although we didn't offer that much either.
O'Donnell's save from Jerome's header looked brilliant on Sky. It was all a bit quick so I'll be looking again at Magnusson's attempted challenge, Flint went nuts.
Oh no, watch out Magnusson your being assessed by Bristol's greatest centre back, don't make any mistakes mate, or you will be Rp's next fall guy.
