My thoughts are purely to get the front three to close down on any long balls and i want both full backs to tuck in narrow.

trent in particular wants a hard talking to. a couple crosses when aubameyang wasn't at all interested might give him a big head but the diabolical performance v real that's cost us hugely should be giving him pause.

If he had just even tucked in netiher first half goals happen. villa will be targeting this all game.

Villa without are surely the ideal team for us to play at this point in time to smash that home hoodoo. Of course they’ll try to defend being without Grealish but this is not their game. After a tentative 10-15 minutes, I see us running away easy winners. Fingers crossed.

Mane dropped. He deserves it big time.

midfield could only be described as functional but theres no place for keita nor thaigo's level of ability to not run here.

the front three need to rush the hoof and we need to see the back 4 closer together to at least close the running channels

 

Yeah, I'd say a must win.

Hopefully Palace can get something against Chelsea so we'll be square with them, or ahead by a point, by the end of the day which will feel marginally better. Then we're also leaving it to the others to stuff it tomorrow, when they also happen to be playing one another.

 

Decent line up. Not even sure what 'a Thiago' is, or does, at this point. Keita deservedly nowhere near. Glad we're playing Bobby and Jota and leaving out Mane. Back four is now the go-to so at least there's stability, if not the greatest ability, across the middle of that.
