Kevin Affleck has put up a poll on this web-site below.... have a go... I think he is doing a player a day starting with goalies please log in to view this image http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2015/11/vote-pick-your-all-time-watford-xi-first-up-the-goalkeepers/
i wanted to vote for Tony Cotton as he was the 1st top class keeper to come to little old Watford but in the end i voted for "bert" he was small but a great keeper and will not get many votes as most will not have seen him .
This type of thing makes me look back and sad to see Bert pasted away back in 2006 age 70 .On my wall i have a signed team photo (out of the wobby ) with Bert i think its 1969 with both Micky Walker and Bert in it . i think a lot of them may have gone now but not forgotten .
Watched Pat Jennings when he first joined Watford and it was clear he would have a very good future in the game. Super keeper who we couldn't keep for very long, so my vote goes to Tony Coton who I believe was the best over a number of years.
Yes Steve Sherwood was a much better goalkeeper than some remember. Like most goalies the occasional howler.....

Gibbs for me as well - that is what the head says but the heart says Doyley. To have been picked by so many different managers says everything really - he has an effect on all those around him and so, despite some limitations, was worth his weight in gold.
Gibbs for me as well. However, the appearance stats for Bazeley are skewed slightly as he started his career as a right winger and if I remember correctly, Bardsley also played there a few times.
and left back? http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2015/11/vote-pick-your-all-time-watford-xi-next-up-the-left-back/ please log in to view this image
WOW this is so unfair everyone of the right back should be in our hall of fame . Duncan(chopper) was the hard man for us and put his job body on the line year in year out Gibbo and Doyley are both Mr Watford .David B was the most skillful class act and Darren Bazeley would be 5th in the list for me still did over 10 years wth us. But my 1 st love was in jan 67. and if im going to war for me it has to be Chopper i want with me so he gets my vote. But the best and worth the most was Dviad B
This is TOUGH! So many favourites... GK I went for TC but hated leaving out Rankin, Chamberlain & Slater RB I chose Chopper, for memories of my youth, but Gibbsy & Lloyd are both great club men. Bardsley was a great natural footballer. LB Wilf. But hard to leave out Robbo. I'm going to be pretty conflicted by the time I look at my my final XI.
