it's a bit worrying, Tremmel didn;t exactly inspire confidence in the games i saw him last season. But maybe the fact that he's guaranteed a short run may relax him, he's been with us long enough so hopefully he's learnt a thing or do about distribution. i thought when he came on yesterday, we may get mullered, but i don;t think he had a shot to save. things might not be so terrible.......

Can't we get a keeper in on an emergency loan? What if Tremmel picks up a knock? Is Cornell up for it? <yikes>

Agree with the boys above, dont rate tremmel at all, for a big keeper he doesnt exactly like to claim his crosses or come off his line and his reactions aint half as sharp as vorms. It may be that we tactically change it a bit so keep the ball for longer and limit the chances of the oppositon.

Lets hope he can impress but last season the games he played in he was ****e !!

As long as Tate does`nt get the gloves we have a chance !
Tremel is our only option unless ML knows another free top class foreing keeper available as emergency cover is that allowed within the rules ?

I'm worried. As soon as Vorm put his hands up, just knew it was serious. Tremmel was awful in the games he played last season, especially Stoke? Not very confident now.

That said, I thought our back four were brilliant yesterday. Ben showed he is one for the future, Chico has improved no end and made a great tackle in the box. If they play like that, Tremmel may not have too much to deal with,

Vorm, Tremmel is not, but this might inspire our defensive posture to be more aggressive and tighter just to protect him.

The back four is gelling and we need to find more fluency and urgency in midfield. But it is slowly coming together and I can see the makings of a really good side. Tremmel is going to have to face up. He's a tall lump of a lad and I can't understand his mediocrity with the high ball. With his size he should be coming out and cleaning everyone out to get at the ball, defenders included. We'll see.

Quick question. I have seen a number of references to Ben Davies' height. Just how tall is he? Anyone know?

Emergency loan is possibly an option. Outside of the transfer window, a club may still sign players on an emergency basis, usually if they have no goalkeeper available. Special dispensation from their competition's governing body, for example the Premier League, is required. Wether that means we cannot due to Tremmel and Cornell is another thing! Worth faking injury to Cornell andwe can borrow one of Spurs many keepers (just as cover ... of course :emoticon-0105-wink:)

It has to be said that Man city were pretty toothless in attack considering the world class talent on offer from them, but our boys stuck to it non the less .

Tremmel is a big concern for me, i aint seen nothing in his play that i think is outstanding, maybe knowing he is going to have a run of games will focus his mind, dont think ive seen such a big keeper be such a pussycat around the box!

like Dorus de vries on steroids..<laugh>

I hope he can suprise us and step up his game over the coming weeks and maybe make it hard for vorm to regain his spot. Wishfull thinking i supose but nothing suprises me much anymore with the team over the last few years. He wont have much time to get his act together though fingers crossed aye !

Hard to find his stats on the net. One data base I found lists him as 5ft 8" which is why I wondered when someone mentioned that with his height he might fit in at centre back in an emergency. I really don't see that.

it takes a special person to be a No2 keeper as he has had chances to join teams to be their no1 and is working hard for swansea. He has a chance on the big stage now and he wont let us down. I have watched him in training and he is as good as vorm....I hope vorm is not to badly injured and is back fighting for his place soon. but im not worried one bit that tremmel is the keeper for the time being....

PS....We have dependable tate as an emergency keeper anyway...;)

No way is Tremmel as good as Vorm! What smarties are you on Dai? Stay off the blue ones, Tremmel is good for short cover, like yesterday, but to use him for weeks or months is deadly in my view. From what I have seen of him, he's championship at best. Hope we use the emergancy market to bring in a quality keeper....... <ok>

did i just read that correctly ??

He is in the team because Vorm is injured and nothing else, if he was a top keeper he wouldnt be number2 at swansea.

That said, he will need massive support from the Jack faithful when he takes the field, he is a big guy and everything is in place for him to step up and perform,if he fails to do a decent job in this period then i think we will need to look at another player when his contract ends.
Life as a number 2 keeper is a lonely one but they guy gets paid a decent wage so hopefully he will be mentally prepared and looking forward to showing us fans what he can really do.
I rememeber him having a couple of decent games pre-season just after dorus left so hopefully knowing its all on his shoulders will give him the strength to be a force in the goal!

Hope he has worked on his crosses!!

Tremmel last season was a sub, only Morea played the regular reserve games ,so whether Tremmel is up to the mark I don't know but he's ours so he'll get my support ,look at how Wayne's taken his chance to shine we, better get used to the idea as Vorm's out for 6-8 weeks
