LEEDS United have contracted military defence company Hesco Bastion to install fencing to protect away fans arriving at Elland Road. The Cross Green firm, which provides barriers for the British Army and whose name was the inspiration for Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, has used its patented system to provide a secure compound for buses dropping supporters off in the Fullerton car park next to the John Charles stand. Nice to see that we will be making visiting fans welcome at Elland Road Does this mean that our Freiends from South London will no longer have to be pick up there tickets at the motorway services . The fenching keeps the Taliban out of camp Bastion but will it pass the ultimate test and keep Millwall from escaping and laying waste to the local area in Leeds. joking aside does anyone think this will give out a posative impression of Leeds to any visiting supporters. Whats next get Hesco Bastion to sponser the stewards and provide them with body armour a totally over the top reaction to the trouble against man ure .
To be fair coalville, I think its more to do with them now being in the West Stand area…generally we have no bother but there are a few teams that we do and I think the coppers are abit fed up of having to shepherd fans down eland road for miles to get them into and out of the ground. At least in the West Stand there is an area that not totally full of fans and they can keep an eye on whos waiting down there, whereas on the streets the club can’t do much about it. Maybe it’s a good thing.
Any of you that have visited The New Den will know that the cage walkway makes our ground one of the safest to visit in the country - obviously the fact that we are a very friendly bunch helps
