has anyone had an experience with the fiasco that is virgin and talk talk... I was with virgin for decades they then transferred all my mails to TALK TALK who incidently charged me more .. and the service was really slow and I mean slow 25% of the virgin speed. they now tell me that the server with 10's of thousands of e mails is going to be shut off and all will be lost .. I have virgin re installing my account and putting in a fibre line tomorrow and have been told to wait to sort things out ..anybody else had similar?
I have had a few issues with Virgin email but nothing too serious.. rebuilds etc. My Tivo box is an absolute bag of crap though!
Talk talk aimed scam just picked up on my phone, avoided it but dodgy. Was on the evening post site as well
I am with sky . only record 2 programmes annoying thing is partway through a programme in middle of the night 2am they often do updates for 30 mins.. I rarely go to bed till 3am and it is annoying .. will know tomorrow if all goes well.. have just 2 days to sort it if it doesn't
I only have Virgin Broadband which was installed fairly recently (which is excellent btw if a little expensive) after previously suffering Sky Broadband dropping every few minutes when I used to work at home.
I have Virgin here in Swindle and to be fair they have been fine - a lot better than when they were NTL - remember them? (Not sure if NTL was in Bristol - I think you guys had Telewest or something like that) - anyway, NTL were absolutely AWFUL - and certainly annoyed this customer: http://www.rense.com/general43/cabel.htm
I have got Virgin - Phone, Broadband & TV - The new super, duper fast cable, new router & Tivo box all working brilliant. One main point if you need an engineer for a general service issue there is no charge , Sky charge a £70 (I think) a time for a callout charge, I booted Sky out ,for me they were rubbish.
well at the moment I have had the fitters in .. I supplied a ladder, supplied common sense, they didn't actually have it for cable run! also laid the conduit for the wire .. now all I need is my last 21000 emails added to account and telephone number ported speed is a lot faster than the < 2mbs OF TALK TALK
Same as me Wiz, I booted Sky for the same reason, just upgraded to the new 200gb internet router and I can't really see any difference from the last one? Tivo box is rubbish though.. its not possible to watch anything on any of the players. takes too long to load.
Q is how often does it go wrong 2 years 3 years more??? £108 service cover left in my bank is £216 in 2 years after 4 years £432 and still going strong still, have my old box ..£70 call out in profit all the way ... but it is still money to pay out of course .. but at the mo I am £18 a month better off having the same package as virgin ( last 2 years) .. so 4 months pays it anyway .. had sky since it started..
I've got Sky everything, to be honest we don't have much choice in Chepstow as we don't have cable. But I've always found sky great to get anything from. They do, do offers for existing customers, but I've been told "unrecorded call" that they just choose not to tell you. That way if you want one, you will search it on your my sky page account. If they tell everyone then they lose, so it's up to you to ask for it. Never get unhelpful people sexy Geordie bird accents so I'm happy with them. Anyway you've not told me if you enjoyed Coldplay?
