What do you think of spending 13M on a manager and do you think he will have time (say 5 years) to make his mark and build a team? Seems a talented manager.
Spending 13 million does seem to show a level of intent that will hopefully mean that he gets time to rebuild the side. Every manager has just carried on playing pretty much the exact same way that Jose did with direct football built around Drogba spearheading the attack without much width. AVB does play the 4-3-3 system but the style of play is supposed to be very different with more of a short passing game which would suit Torres no end. If he manages to get Torres scoring regularly, brings some of the youngsters through and at least provides a decent challenge on every front in all four competitions next season I will be happy even if we don't win any silverwear. AVB's biggest task is to completely rebuild an ageing squad and that is rarely acheived in a short period of time and I hope Roman is aware of that too.
